CameronCrazy11ParticipantCBS Sports reported this yesterday. What do you all make of this? If the Kings can get Russell, Julius Randle, and a future pick, I think they should take it and start their rebuild now. Lakers want an immediate star too and could possibly have the best front court in the league if they can lure LaMarcus Aldridge there too.

ZachAttackParticipantCousins and Kobe will cause problems, Cousins will probably annoy a professional guy like LMA and he won’t want to play as well, I don’t know how well the Lakers will play if this trade goes down.

Memphis MadnessParticipantThe Lakers should have just drafted Okafor.
Then go after Anthony Davis in a few years.
Cousins AND Russell would be good, but if they have to trade Russell AND Randle for Cousins they will just be spinning their wheels…

robertsallParticipantOf course the Kings wouldn’t trade Cousins for Russell alone. It would take Randle and more added to Russell. The Lakers wouldn’t do that because they know they can get free agents to eventually come to LA and don’t need to trade multiple young assets. Its a stupid story.

mixtape2003ParticipantIf they do that and Kobe reitres after this season, your back to square one on the rebuilding process. I would rather them go after a FA, and not mortgage their future unless its going to make them a contender right away.

BleedGreen808ParticipantThey are better off keeping Russell, Randle and Clarkson while looking to add a player like Aldridge. That way when Kobe retires you still have players to build around. Trading away Russell and Randle away could come back to bite them.

Tim49461ParticipantThis would be a horrible deal for the Lakers.
If this trade goes through you are looking at a starting line up of
PG: Currently No one worth mentioning
SG: Kobe
SF: Nick Young
PF: Ed Davis
C: Cousins
Maybe Lamarcus if he signs there
How is that better than what is being pursued currently
PG: Russell/Clarkson
SG: Kobe
SF: Jimmy Butler (Openly stated he wants to sign with LA via CBSsports sorry for no link at work)
PF: Randle
C: Lamarcus
although two of the players are Free Agents I want this 2nd line up over that first one.

Willfb3ParticipantIf he openly stated that why wouldn’t you include Butler on the first roster as well? And why is LMA on the second roster as well instead of "Maybe Lamarcus if he signs here." Obviously you want the second lineup more when you include them..

For_Never_EverParticipantCousins playing with Aldrige would be a devastating combo.

Magic JordanParticipantThis is pointless. Even if the Lakers include Randle and Clarkson with the trade… Don’t take back any money they still wouldn’t have enough left over to sign Aldridge so mentioning the tandem of Aldridge and Cousins is pointless. Even assuming the Kings don’t require dumping Landry.
Also Kobe is gone after this year. Any current or future Laker roster moves will have nothing to do with him, as stated multiple times by Kupchak… So the Cousins Kobe fit is also pointless to talk about.
What is worth mentioning as some have is Randle, Russell Clarkson and msx Free Agent X are better for the Lakers than Cousins and mid tier free agent X… That is all that needs to be taken into consideration.

Ahkasi ClayParticipantI don’t see the Lakers having enough pieces to get cousins.
And if they do. They don’t have anyways to build around him for years to come.

earldaniel31ParticipantSacramento wants a "godfather" package for Cousins.. that means, Randle, Clarkson, Russell & other draft considerations.. plus LA has to take on Landry’s contract
