Real GM wiretap reports the Hornets are trying to offload Cody Zeller for a wing.

Boston is an obvious possibility as they are looking for a big and his brother is there too.

Do you think he’s worth the #16?

Its highly questionable that anyone would give up the #16 pick in this year’s draft for a guy who has done almost nothing in his 2 years in the league and shown little promise. At this point it doesn’t matter that Zeller was once a #4 pick, what matters is what he’s shown since as that’s what defines what he is worth. If your second year in the league by a high draft pick yields 7.6 pts and 5.8 rebounds by a plodding big guy I’m not going to run to the phones to get him. If you think he just hasn’t had enough time and his past draft stock matters then I’d like to introduce you to Thomas Robinson and Derrick Williams.

Rumor is that Kaminsky would be in play at the 9th pick if they find a taker for Zeller.  I think that would be a weird move considering they just traded for Spencer Hawes and they still have Noah Vonleh who they just drafted last year.

Chalk this up as another MJ busted draft pick

Hornets now have Batum and Lamb, so there’s the wings they were looking for.
Maybe they go for whoever is left from either Kaminsky or WCS now

I don’t think this is the case any more.  The fact is that Zeller and Vonleh play the same position.  I think what it came down to is who they could flip to get the better player.  Vonleh got them Batum, so I doubt Zeller is still being actively shopped.
