calitiger100ParticipantEarlier this week Chad Ford reported the Nuggets want to trade point guard Ty Lawson to the Kings for their 2015 First Round pick.
Personally, I really like this Muday point guard and I like the fact he has pro experience already in China. However, I see him being gone by the 6th pick.
Tough to get much value at the 6th slot. I much rather have a proven point guard ready to go. Botton line: Kings instantly MUCH better with Ty Lawson at the point. COME ON MR. KARL, PULL THE TRIGGER ALREADY

BiggysmallsParticipantIf Mudiay is off the board, why would the Nuggets do that deal? Would they want Hezonja at 6 and Payne at 7?
I guess I’m not sure what the Nuggets plan is?

LovebugParticipantIt’s widely accepted Lawson doesn’t have the value of 6
this draft is strong in that range (WCS,Hezonja,Winslow,Johnson)
the he nuggets have been shopping Lawson because they are rebuilding and he has pissed off the fanbase – Mavs tweet

Lotto StudParticipantIf we look at what the Kings have done for the last past 5 years or so, their track record is not good at all for getting the production we believe they should have out of every point guard they have brought in. Something is really up in Sacramento with the point guard play.
- Tyreke Evans – Gone
- Jimmer Fredette – Gone
- Aaron Brooks – Gone
- Toney Douglas – Gone
- Greivis Vasquez – Gone
- Isaiah Thomas – Gone
- Ray McCallum – ?
- Darren Collison – ?
- Andre Miller – ?
- David Stockton – ?

LovebugParticipantCollison has been fine and generally fits with Cousins/Gay

uabasketballParticipantDavid Stockton isn’t worth a question mark on this list. He probably isn’t even worth putting on this list.

For_Never_EverParticipantTy Lawson isn’t worth the sixth pick.

WinterSoldierParticipant"The talk of Lawson to SAC for #6. I thought it was reasonable. Two GM’s laughed at me, hurt my feelings type of laughter. Ty stock is low… — Russillo (@ryenarussillo) June 18, 2015"
I don’t think it’s happening.

HitsterParticipantCoach Karl would probably like Ty Lawson on his roster again but I agree the 6th pick might be a bit too generous for him. If tDenver were lower down in the draft then their pick and Lawson for 6th might work.
The Kings probably want to try and compete sooner rather than later to keep DMC happy but is Lawson that much of an upgrade over Collinson I wonder.
If George Karl would like Lawson then why not 6th and Collinson for 7th and Lawson. The Kings get Lawson and Denver move up a spot in the draft to have a better pick.
One idea that occured to me is would Ty Lawson suit the Triangle in New York and the Knicks do 4th for Lawson and 7th. That way Knicks get a proven PG and still have a good pick at 7th and take say Herzonja.
Denver get 4th pick and probably have a choice of say Mudiay or Porzingis.

mgreener_34ParticipantThe 6th pick is too generous for Lawson, but Lawson and #7 is fine? What world are you living in where you trade your best player to move up 3 damn spots in the draft, and still miss out on the 3 best prospects…crazy how overvalued some picks are becoming.

WinterSoldierParticipantHe is the best player on a veteran team that didn’t even come close to making the playoffs. He is also a undersized PG on the downside of his career, I wouldn’t say he’s worth very much.
0- Posted on: Sat, 06/20/2015 - 4:02pm #992042

mgreener_34ParticipantDown side of his career? Now you’re just making **** up to make you point seem valid!
Lawson is 27 years old, just entering his prime, and basically put up 15/10/3 last year. You can’t deminish a player just because the team is bad, that doesn’t take away from that players skill and worth. The West is stacked too.
Also, it’s not like Lawson is a FA, he’s under contract for a reasonable price till 2017. Trading him for a pick swap that only moves you up 3 spots is absolutely ridiculous to think of

WinterSoldierParticipantHow long do you think NBA careers last? He is not going to get any better. He averaged 15 pts his rookie season his FG% and FT% have gone down every year. I’m not saying he is terrible but he certainly isn’t a missing piece to make a team like the Kings a contender, I’m not even sure he makes them a playoff team.

For_Never_EverParticipantHe is an incredible athlete kinda of a player for his size. I don’t consider him a good shooter or floor general. The way he has to play to be effective and the kinda player he is has started to catch up to him.

CoachWyersParticipantI have heard that the Kings have turned down the deal for Lawson because they don’t think he is 6/7mil a year better than Collison. At 6 they want a SF because Karl plans on playing Rudy Gay a lot at PF next year, heard they are really high on Mario Hezonja and the pick likely comes down to him or Justise Winslow. If Emmanual Mudiay slips to them they will have to take a hard look at him as well, but I think he is gone by the time they pick, but Mudiay on a rookie deal is much better than paying for Lawson.

bdoody42ParticipantI feel like they should hold onto this pick. If Mudiay isn’t there they still have some high potential players in WCS, Herzonja, or Winslow. SF is a need if they want to move Gay to the 4. I feel like the would suck on defense with this lineup but be able to score. Collision needs to be healthy and he can be a solid PG.

cozmojimParticipantWhat makes the conversation interesting to me is that each teams coach recently coached the other team. If the two teams did a deal it would be interesting to see what minor pieces moved too, if Malone and Karl tried to get some of their guys as add-ons.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI think Mudiay could still be on the board at 6, and here’s why:
1st pick is between Towns and Okafor, Lakers will pick the player that the Wolves do not.
Sixers its between Russell, Mudiay, or Porzingis. I think Hinkie will take Porzingis because Embiid’s projected start date was set back another year, so he needs a player to team with Noel down low. Porzingis is probably a better combo with Noel than Embiid ever was.
If Russell is still available at 4, the Knicks are taking him hands down. Mudiay doesn’t work well for the triangle because he can’t shoot. Russell is much better for triangle than Mudiay, because he can shoot, pass, and he has an extremely BBIQ.
With Porzingis off the board, Magic’s dream scenario is gone. Mudiay wouldn’t work here because Magic already have Payton and Oladipo. Payton had a pretty good rookie year, and we know how successful Dipo has been his first two years in the league. Harris is on his way out (probably to Knicks) Best players available at 5 that would fit their team are Hezonja and Winslow.
This means Mudiay is available at 6. Dreams do come true, you can’t pass this up. I think its very possible Mudiay is still available at 6.
