Does anybody’s draft stock rise or fall with the NBA playoffs/GSW Championship?

Perhaps, versatility and shooting are becoming more valuable than ever with the increasing popularity of small ball. Moving Green to center lead to a pivotal shift in the series. 

Jarrell Martin supposedly has a mid lotto promise….. If true that would be strong evidence for your hypothesis.

WCS will step on the floor and will immediately have the best feet of any big in the league at switching on PnR and guarding smaller players. You think his value would be higher given this unique ability along with the current trends. Can we combine him and Frank Kaminsky to form one super big?

 I will go with Willie Cauley Stein too.  

 Why shouldn’t he be in the discussion for picks at 3-5?  He is a great athlete and all-around defender.  Can finish inside with alley-oops.

He is not a scorer, but I saw clips of him during work outs draining shots.

He is a prototype center.  He can switch out on perimeter guys too.

What if you are the Lakers at 2, why wouldn’t you look at WCS?  They have Julius Randle and they can get free agents, so if they want to go after Kevin Durant or Anthony Davis (the guy they should get) wouldn’t WCS be a great fit for them?

You could go either way with Karl Anthony Towns.  On the one hand he is versatile, on the other hand, what is he GREAT at?  He is no super freak athlete either.  Closer to Jahlil Okafor in terms of athleticism than Willie Cauley Stein.  

Could also help Sam Dekker.  The two best guys in this series were athletic, do-it-all small forwards.  LeBron gave us a video game performance while Iggy played Prototype Small Forward Basketball.  Then you would say Steph Curry was the third best guy in the Finals.  Hey, then the 4th best guy was Draymond Green, a creating forward who can play either the 4 or 3 (along with Harrison Barnes).

Over the last several years, LeBron has 4 regular season MVP trophies and Kevin Durant has one.  The last 4 Finals MVP awards have been won by LeBron, Kawhi Leonard, and Andre Iguodala.  

The Finals should help bigger shooters like Klay Thompson too.  Not an outstanding athlete but he is tall and long and can also do some other things like play solid defense.  That should help Mario Hezonja.

At the end of the day, you have to make plays.  Get guys involved, get the basket, defend, and make athletic high-level plays.  Size and length also help.  So, look at a guy like Mudiay.  Bigger point guard who can score himself or pass.  For a point guard, 6’5 is an ideal size.  

After KAT and Okafor, why not have WCS, Mudiay, Hezonja, and Dekker at 4-6.  

Then Frank Kaminksy is a big who is fairly mobile and athletic.  Plus, he is a legit 7 footer.  Can also shoot outside and pass.  Should also be in the 5-10 range.  It still helps to score inside and get to the line.  Big Frank can score the ball…

I actually like Okafor for the top pick, because he EXCELS on offense in the low post.  So, your post scoring is taken care of.  Then he can pass.  Solid low post defender.  He is a center.  Then put a Robert Horry type athletic 3 and D 4 next to him…

Towns is a guy who would be great on the Warriors as a slightly undersized 5.  A guy who complements Steph, Klay, Draymond, Iggy, and Barnes.  You could also put him in their at the 4 with Bogut at the 5.  But, you don’t use the 1st pick on a secondary big man.

Small ball or whatever, the top low post scorers in NBA history have titles.  George Mikan, Wilt, Kareem, Moses Malone, Kevin McHale, Hakeem, Shaq, and Tim Duncan.  

You could say that Zach Randolph is a heck of a low post scorer, and he doesn’t have a ring.  Well, he is 6’9.  If he were taller and were a true center then he might have one by now.  Maybe that is why you don’t take Okafor at 1, or you say that he is a legit center and closer to Tim Duncan.  Or at worst, he learns to play some slightly better D, uses his length and turns into Kevin McHale fully maximizing his inside skills and foot work.
