McDunkinThe Nets announced Friday that Mirza Teletovic was diagnosed with bilateral pulmonary embolus, per the team’s official website. Teletovic will begin treatment, which includes blood thinners. He will be lost for the remainder of the season.

IndianaBasketballParticipantOmg… Wow. He’s lucky to be alive to be honest. Multiple blood clots in his lungs? Just wow… Could’ve traveled to his heart, brain, etc and killed him without warning.
Crazy… Happy they caught it.

ReekoParticipantHe’s so fortunate to be alive, I lost my dad to a pulmonary embolism because a doctor wouldn’t give him blood thinners when he had a blood clot in his leg. That is some scary shit all of a sudden not being able to breathe and you don’t know why. I hope he recovers fully, and is able to return to basketball when his health issues are cleared up.

TimeForNineParticipantI had a friend go through this recently and he had a long and hard road to recovery. He still isn’t quite 100% and it took multiple hospital trips, tests, and medications to get him on the right track. It is no doubt a life-threatening condition and I wish Mirza the best in his road to recovery. Truly a bit of a "silent" killer, you could go on without knowing about it and it could kill you out of nowhere.
