Okafor definitely is deserving of ACC player of the year. But I think it’s a close race right now. Rakeem Christmas is putting up 18.2 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 2.4 bpg, 1.5 apg. Statistically, they are extremely similar. The main difference is that while Okafor is the best player on his team, Duke would still have a top team in the country. Christmas on the other hand is this year’s Syarcuse team. Without him, this team wouldn’t win 10 ******* games. Not ten.

Also, Christmas is a senior, and while it shouldn’t really factor in to the equation, voters may be more likely to give it to the guy who has been around awhile then the one-and-done player. But if Okafor won, I wouldn’t be mad since he is very deserving of it as well.

Well you’re right that it’s a close race for ACC player of the year right now, but it’s not between Jahlil Okafor and Rakeem Christmas. It’s between Okafor and Jerian Grant.

Sorry.  I know Bobby Portis is playing well, but Willie Cauley-Stein has to be the POY so far in the SEC.   If you just look at stats, then maybe, but serious consideration is being given for the Wooden Award.  (Not saying will win) Also I have to agree with Cameron Crazy (Ouch, I hate agreeing with Duke fans) Grant is Okafor’s main competition and I’m not sure that is even close. (Wait… Did I just give a Duke player a compliment. I must be losing my mind)
