ReekoParticipantThe Atlanta Hawks are for sale, there are two seperate bids to have them relocated to Seattle, however the current owners would like for the team to remain in Georgia. I personally hate to see any city lose it’s NBA team, but in this case based on Atlanta’s notoriously low attendance I wouldn’t feel too bad. Especially if the move was to Seattle a city that was absolutely heart broken when they lost their Super Sonics.

Memphis MadnessParticipantJust EXPAND THE LEAGUE. The new TV deal is ginormous. New owners would throw a TON of money at an expansion team.
Move a Western team to the East (either New Orleans, Memphis, or Minny), then stick two teams out West: Seattle and either San Jose or Las Vegas.
Moving Minny to the East would help Wiggins and Co. in the wins column. Then the league’s lower tier teams would have two new expansion teams to beat up on.
Hopefully the Hawks can find a local buyer.

HitsterParticipantThe Hawks are having a good season and will make the play offs for an 8th successive year , so would be an attractive purchase for any investor. With the new TV deal kicking in, I’d hope a local buyer could be found as the team has a good base to move forward.

CameronCrazy11ParticipantIf the NBA were to expand and if Minnesota was the team that moved to the East, they’d likely get put in the Central Divison. In other words, Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker would be in the SAME divison and that rivalry would finally be given a chance to flourish, which I would support 100%.

CynthiaParticipantI’d really love to see some expansion teams, we haven’t had a new team(s) in quite a while. Personally I’m tired of teams just swapping cities, let’s see some new blood! The NBA is becoming increasingly more famous and world renown every year, so it’s not like they have to worry about losing money by expanding. If anything it would increase sales because that’s a ton of new merchandise people will buy.

NDKKnottParticipantAs a fellow Georgian, hoping for a local buyer, even with the attendance issues, why would you move a successful team such as the Hawks? I would buy into expansion, as Memphis CLEARLY shouldnt be in the Western conference. It would be nice to see the league get to 32 teams with 2 more expansion teams…..with all the money the league is making…..it could happen…

OhCanada-ParticipantExpansion seems like the best scenario although it is not in play apparently.
