J.P. Tokoto. 19 points, 8 assists in 26 minutes. He was 5-5 from the line as well. He has really worked hard on his game and it has showed. He is the best passer on the team by far and could probably run the point. He has a good handle and has great court vision. He will never be a 3-point marksman but he has developed a nice 1-2 dribble pull up. He obviously still has flaws, but his game has come a LONG way. He has worked tirelessly on his shot with Hubert Davis and it looks very good right now. We all remember the 4-16 debacle at the lie against Belmont last year. He is an explosive athlete and defender and can guard the opposing teams best scorer on a nightly basis. Tokoto wasn’t a Mcdonald’s all-American and I was stunned at how a guy with such great athletic ability was ranked in the 60’s in his class. His freshman year I could understand why because his skillset was horrific. Right now I believe he is the most complete tar heel and one they can ill afford to lose if they want to compete for the ACC title with Duke, Louisville and UVA.

I don’t understand why he isn’t shooting up draft boards yet, I see all his flaws as fixable.

Tokoto is a mid to late first rounder right now excellent defender and transition finisher when he doesnt get a flat tire but if he goes earlier it will be esp due to his high bb iq once again was on display sunday in his high assist rate (which is normal for him) although the points total was above normal.. The knock still is he has no consistancy on his shot beyond 15 feet yet.

although a little undersized for nba,Meeks is definitely a solid player in the post, the passing is phenominal for a big.He should be a early 2nd round pick or better.

Still on the fence with Paige and his hyped upside, the skill is there, but the strength is’nt yet and I am not crazy about his decision making. he will probably still go late first early 2nd even if he doesnt improve to the higher expectations coming into this season that he has yet to reach esp defensively.

Bryce Johnson is the best NBA prospect besides Tokoto though…Tristan Thompson 2.0

Now I’m excited to see Kennedy Meeks. If I found his stats correctly he right now is averaging 14 and 10.

Can’t wait to see him match up with Okafor in the first rivalry game.

The best player on unc is still Paige. Who’s playing the best and been the most consistent right now? Kennedy Meeks, he’s averaging a double double and playing alot better defense with 1.9 blocks a game so far. Who’s also playing great Tokoto. He’s putting up 9pts, 5rbs, 4ast, 1.6stls. He’s shooting better from three and the freethrow line at 33% and 70% respectively. But his fg% has taken a major hit this year so far. It’s fallen from 49% in his first two years to 37% this year.

His play and progression reminds me of KJ McDaniels of Clemson last year. Both are super athletic wings with all around skillsets. There’s no doubt in my mind if Tokoto was playing for a say Clemson or somewhere were he was the best player he could easily put up similar stats. Or if you want to keep the comparsion to carolina guys he a more athletic Reggie Bullock and Danny Green without the shooting abililties of those guys.

At best he’s going to be a late 1st rounder when he decides to leave. Because he’s a junior who doesn’t excelle at one thing but does a lot of thing well. However he definately can play and contribute in the league.

Tokoto is one of the most polarizing players in recent UNC history.  He will look like the second coming of Vince Carter on some days (like yesterday) and other days you will wonder how he got a division 1 scholarship.  Like Brice Johnson it is between the ears with him.  He just needs to find consistency and then MAYBE I could see him being drafted in the late first to early second.

UNC’s best collegiate player at the moment is Kennedy Meeks.  The dude has been a beast and on Saturday we will see just how much of an improvement he has really made on Saturday as he goes against the trees of UK.

UNC’s best NBA prospects in my opinion are Jackson, Hicks and Pinson.

Jackson is not physically ready for the nba imo, he should stay 2 yrs in chapel hill. But he probably will declare and go late first hence riding the bench on a contender for the first few years of his career before being washed out. Or he can stay at chapel hill and be a lottery pick in 2016.

Pinson and Hicks are no more locks to get drafted in 2015 let alone go before paige, johnson, meeks,or tokoto.

I would give Pinson a shot at late 2nd if he were to declare but I doubt Hicks would get drafted at all. He needs more time.

What I meant when I said they were their best prospects was that 10 years down the road Jackson, Hicks and Pinson will be the most effective NBA players.

I do not necessarily disagree with anything you just stated.  Being more drafteable now does not necessarily equal being a better prospect.
