Mavericks To Sign Yuki Togashi To Non-Guaranteed Deal

The Dallas Mavericks will sign Yuki Togashi after he passes his physical on Tuesday.
Togashi will be eligible to practice with the team, but he is most likely to end up with the Texas Legends in the NBA D-League.
Togashi, a 5-foot-7 guard who played for Dallas in Summer League, is going to sign a non-guaranteed deal.

I remember watching him play in high school at Montrose Christian. Thought he looked really good for a player his height. However, Togashi didn’t get one full ride scholarship (A walk on offer from George Washington was it, if I remember correctly). Why? The same reason Jeremy Lin was named 1st team All-State in California and also didn’t receive one D-1 scolly either.

A way to get Dallas some publicity, it would be fun to see him make a roster but Dallas have too many contracts already. Point guard is a bit of a mess for the Mavs, they have four players they could start, or maybe really two with Nelson and Harris the safer options right now.
