Barring any injuries, which rookies will start over half of the season??

Jabari Parker – Not only is he the starter, but he is the go to scorer. He will likely start every game he plays.

Andrew Wiggins – Same thing with Parker. In Minny, Wiggins will be heavily relied on to score. Likely to start every game this year.

Nerlens Noel – I don’t know if they will start him right away but I see him taking over the starting job within the first 15 games of the year.

Marcus Smart – I don’t see Rondo lasting long with the Celtics. Unless they snag another PG, Rondo will be the starter once he is gone.

Elfrid Peyton – I can see him starting the year on the bench but unless they are pushing Dipo as a PG, Peyton should snag the starting job.

Dante Exum – Bottom line is they don’t really have any wings worth talking about.. Hayward and Burke are nice. But Burkes, Clark, and Hood don’t stand a chance to get that last wing spot..

Agree, disagree, did I leave anyone out?

I’m not sure if Marcus Smart starts over half his games. The Celtics seem to want to keep Rajon Rondo and Rondo doesn’t appear to want to leave either so that hurts Smart’s chances of starting more than half his games. I do wonder if the Celtics will choose to use Smart as a shooting guard and play him alongisde Rondo.

I expect to see Nerlens Noel start from day one although I wouldn’t be shocked to see them rest him from time to time like they did in summer league.

Agree with most, I think Dougy Buckets might work his way into a starting spot around r after all-stars

I think that Snell will become the starter before McDermott..

      Rose
      Butler
      Snell
      Gasol
      Noah

with McDermott playing PF and SF, Gibson playing PG and C, Hinrich playing SG and PG, and Brooks playing PG.

Burks didn’t have a bad year last year and I definitely think he should be the starting 2 guard over Exum. Exum just isn’t as proficient offensively and with him on the floor lack of spacing could become an issue.

^^ I agree, Burks should be starting at 2, but Exum should be starting at the 1.  Not impressed with Trey really, he seems more suited for a steady hand, team management role of the 2nd unit off the bench.  If you aren’t playing for the playoffs, which I don’t think they are… let the one player on the roster with true superstar potential get the majority of the run (Exum), let him learn on the fly and give him all the reps he needs to become the player he can.  Don’t let Trey Burke get in the way.  There are dozens of him in the league every year.

I hope for the love of me that Randle ends up in this group that will start more than half the games.  I have a feeling he will make Boozer look like a clown in practice, I think the only thing that will prevent him from starting right away is the fact Boozer will have a fit about it.  He has already proclaimed he should be a starter, keeping the entitlement that prevented Gibson ever getting the starting nod out of fear Boozer would make a scene, and the fact he was paid as much as he was.  Let’s not do that song and dance Lakers management, for once in the recent history of the franchise, make the right decision and let Randle get started on his development right away.  Throw him to the Wolves, he strikes me as the type that will come out on the other end better off for it, not fail from it.

I think they’re going to give the benefit of doubt to both Burke and Burks. Exum may takeover a starting spot by the end of the season, but I don’t see him getting 42 starts unless it’s because of an injury.

i agree. now if exum actually out performs trey burke in training camp, im all for him starting over the sophomore point. but if he’s still turning the ball over, making bad decisions, and is unable to manage the team and direct the players on the court, then i say you have to bring him off the bench.

entitling him and not letting him earn his spot on the team can hamper his development as much as gluing him on the bench when he should be on the court.

I think Julius Randle should. I think Boozer/Davis will start the season with Randle coming through starting towards the middle/end

A guy who will get a lot of PT – I don’t know about starts, but I think Jordan Adams can average like 11-12 ppg in his rookie year
