Just read on ESPN that Thabo signed a three year deal worth 12 million with the Hawks and Collison a 16 million 3 year deal with the Kings.

Hopefully Lamb or Jackson get the starting spot now in OKC and Thomas departure seems to be official now.

Both reasonable contracts and good fits for both teams. Wish Thabo the best but his offensive shortcomings had a bitter sweet ending in OKC. 6 ppg is a little less for a starting SG.

Love what the Kings did I just hope that he continues to play well. I really liked him in Indiana, but the offence didn’t suit him hopefully this is his chance to shine as a starter.

Is a great fit as plays defence and can run an offence and with weapons like Staukas, Gay and Cousin I am sure he will get them good looks.

We don’t know what he’s able to do with the keys to a team…  He’s improved at finishing and outside of this year’s playoffs, he’s been solid…  He also shoot the 3 well and doesn’t have a problem doing the dirty work…

The Kings seem to have an affinity for former New Orleans guards. Thornton, Vasquez,  and now Collison.

It’s surprising that the Hawks just traded Lou Williams (who makes a little over $5 million) and 2013 first round pick Lucas Nogueira to the Raptors for John Salmons in order to clear cap space only to then use a large portion of that space on Thabo Sefolosha ($4 million a year for three years). It’s one thing if it was just Lou Williams but to include Nogueira as well only to ultimately acquire Sefolosha…it’s a head scratcher.

I wonder if those saying Rudy Gay trade was a win for both sides have changed their mind now that the Kings are likely to lose Thomas, a rare gem in the late second round, for nothing and they will be capped out this season with Darren Collison as their starting PG and with very few chances to make the playoffs.

trading for Gay has nothing to do with it.. they did the same thing with Tyreke last season.. they didn’t extend an offer, they "allowed" the market to dictate the price, which we all know that the market tends to overpay RFAs in order to pry them away from their teams.. just my opinion, i don’t think they’re convinced I.T. is their PG moving forward same thing with Tyreke.. those big offers helps them justify their reason not to re-sign them..

Without trading for Gay they would’ve had much more cap space to resign Thomas or to get something in return in a sign and trade. The situation is totally different from last year. Evans got a bigger contract ($11-12 million), he was coming from a few disappointing seasons after a great rookie year and it was the best thing for both the team and the player to part ways. They still got something for him. Thomas was their second best player last year and Pistons’ offer is not that big considering what kind of contracts have been signed in this offseason (Detroit offered $8 million per, which is not that high for a 25 year old player who posted the 20th best PER of the league last year, considering Avery Bradley got the same and Jodie Meeks slightly less). They’re capped out now, so I don’t see what kind of deal they might try to put up with Detroit and why Detroit should accept any deal in the first place, considering Sacramento is close to the tax after signing Collison so they likely won’t match the offer. The only reason might be to get rid of Josh Smith’s contract, but considering Sacramento is over the cap it won’t be easy.
