CavFanPRParticipantDwyane Wade is the face of the Miami Heat. LeBron knows this, and he knows he’ll always be remembered as Wade’s robin. Maybe LeBron talked to Pat Riley and convinced him to go after Melo and let Wade walk, so LeBron can be the new face. In his mind, James wants to win more championships and have more rings than Wade, and the only way to achieve that is to force Wade out of Miami.
Can you imagine if Riley tells Wade: “time to move on buddy”. Gosh, that would be epic on so many levels.

CanadianGMParticipantI think Lebron wants Wade to take a drastic pay cut but Lebron wants Wade back no doubt. Plenty of veterans have sacrificed to come ride Lebrons coat tails and now it’s Dwayne s Wade turn to do the same. Ray Allen played for 3 million last year which is what I see Wade producing in years 3 & 4 of contract. Wade becomes the 6 the man playing 60 games a year. This is why a 4 year 40 million contract is going to be signed. Lebron is underpaid at 22 million a year as he commands so much respect that Lebron plus 10 veteran minimum/ rookies would be a playoff team in the East. Granted those players taking the veteran minimum are fairly decent NBA players. ( Anderson, Allen, R.Lewis, Napier, Chalmers, Beasley, James jones,Greg Oden) plus new batch of aspiring veterans that might ride Lebrons coat tails.(Marion, Carter, Blake) I would consider Jordan Hill, Ed Davis and Andre Blache but they are younger and probably not taking the minimum.
There is no other player in the NBA that could generate as much respect, granted Riley and Miami culture probably helps as well. If lesser players than Wade yet still productive can play for a million, then. Wade can play for 10 million or less. I doubt after last years finals that he would command much more on the open market.

tidhoParticipantIf LeBron wants Wade out then he won’t be back. It would take a special kind of evil for him to talk Wade out of $40M guarenteed, then not invite him back though.

burgessfourParticipantLebron is a lot classier than that. If he didn’t want to play with Wade I think Lebron would go to another team. Maybe I’m being naive, and I’m not a huge Lebron fan, but I do think he’s a classy guy.
