I wanted to post a comment on the topic entitled “Wolves Fans/Draft Reaction” because I disagreed with the OP but I gave him (or her) a plus one anyway because of their very valid standpoint. Unfortunately my comment for some reason was blocked. I don’t know why. I think you’ll find that there is not any backlash or harsh judgement in what I said. I just stated my opinion and backed it up very nicely without one mean thing said. (Especially to the OP) Here’s what I originally had wanted to say on that topic:

“Okay from that standpoint I respect you and give you a plus 1, but ultimately I disagree with you.
And here is why: The Wolves are horrible at developing talent. Just look at who they drafted since 2008. Kevin Love (well it was actually OJ Mayo but you’ll see why I put Kevin later on), Nikola Pekovic, Mario Chalmers, Ricky Rubio, Johnny Flynn, Ty Lawson, Wayne Ellington, Nick Calathes, Henk Norel, Wesley Johnson, Luke Babbitt, Lazar Hayward (well it was actually Trevor Booker that year, but you’ll see why I put Lazar on the list later on) Paulo Prestes, Hamady N’Diaye, (well he never really ended playing up for the Wolves, but that will prove my point later on.) Derrick Williams, Donatas Motiejunas (and he to never played for the Wolves and that also proves my point), Robbie Hummel, Shabazz Muhammad, Gorgui Dieng, (well the Wolves actually selected Trey Burke, but he was immediately traded to the Jazz for those two players. And the selection of Trey Burke also proves my point.) Lorenzo Brown and Bojan Dubljevic. Then we come to who the Wolves selected this year, Zach LaVine and GR3 and we will see if they really develop or not.

Now here’s my point. The Wolves never really developed the players that they drafted since that year (2008)! OJ Mayo, Mario Chalmers, Ty Lawson, Nick Calathes, Luke Babbitt, Trevor Booker, Hamady N’Diaye, Donatas Motiejunas, and Trey Burke never played for the Wolves although they were all originally selected by them. They were all developed by other teams, and all of them with the exception of Babbitt and N’Diaye have all amounted to quite the players in their own respective right.

So the only players that the Wolves really only get credit for "developing" are Kevin Love, Nikola Pekovic, Ricky Rubio, Johnny Flynn, Wayne Ellington, Henk Norel, Wesley Johnson, Lazar Hayward, Paulo Preste, Derrick Williams, Robbie Hummel, Shabazz Muhammed, Gorgui Dieng, and now hopefully Zach LaVine and GR3. (But we’ll have to ultimately disregard this year’s two picks to prove my point) Of those players only Love, Pekovic, Rubio, and Dieng amounted to much (I’m not quite sure if you can say that Dieng amounted to much yet, but I’m going to say that he did and will because I know read an article on him last year saying that he played very well next to Kevin Love, and the Wolves might feature him next to Love next year instead of Pekovic. They might do this because the Love, Dieng duo ultimately fared better than the Love, Pekovic duo. But we’ll see what really happens to Dieng in the end.) So that’s only 4 players of the 14 that we can technically give credit to the Wolves for developing and amounting to much value. (well, technically Dieng hasn’t fully developed yet, but for the sake of argument I’ll give him to you as saying that he will fully develop.) So 10 players that the Wolves drafted did not amount to much. And 9 players that the Wolves did actually draft ended up being developed by other teams. And 7 of those players amounted to quite a value!

So there you have it, proof that the Wolves can’t develop players. My favorite player out of the list of players that the Wolves technically “developed” is Derrick Williams. He hasn’t amounted to much so far but I hope the Kings will help further the development of him and he’ll become a key player for them later on down the road. Now I’ll give your Wolves credit and say I may be wrong, because the Wolves did, rightfully so, fire David Kahn as their GM and re-hired Flip Saunders in his place, who ultimately became the head coach in the end too. (He did not want to be the Head Coach, just the GM, but he reluctantly decided to become the coach because they didn’t really get many offers of people who were interested in coaching the Wolves) So both Zach LaVine and GR3 along with all the other 10 players I listed that are still with the Wolves are going to now be under the tutlelidge of new GM and head coach Flip Saunders. Now I do like Flip Saunders, so I do think he’ll be successful in developing those really only 4 players! (Muhammed, Dieng, LaVine and GR3) I don’t think the rest of the 10 players that I listed as not being developed are on the Wolves anymore! (I’m not quite sure about Hummell, Prestes and Norel but I don’t think they are with the Wolves anymore. Or they haven’t been brought over to the NBA yet since one of them is an international player. And if that’s the case on those select few, then they will also continue thier development under the tutiledge of Flip Saunders, and I wish the best of luck to them if that’s the case simply cause I do like Flip Saunders.)

So most of the players that David Kahn (then GM of the Wolves and who I give credit to the Wolves drafting and “developing” are wisely not on the Wolves anymore. The Wolves cannnot develop young players.

Now, for your sake I hope that won’t prove true for LaVine, GR3, Muhammed, and Dieng, but I think in the end if all 4 of those players end up being successful in the NBA they will not do so in a Wolves jersey. (With the exception of Dieng. I think he will develop into quite a player, and I think it will be in a Wolves jersey)

So here’s what I think the Wolves thought when they selected their players: "This player looks good, he’s talented, he might work out for us. Lets draft him." And everyone dumbly said "okay, I agree." And this includes the selections of Zach LaVine and GR3. So I don’t think much thought process, team fit, playing style, or how to develop them went into selecting them. Now this is of course from the standpoint of the fact that I have no idea what goes on in the Wolves war room as I am not a Wolves fan. So you may not give much credit to my point, but you have to admit I made my point quite clear.

I hope for your sake that I’m wrong and that LaVine, and GR3 were not selected in this mindset. But I highly doubt that I am. My viewpoint comes from the fact that I am not a Wolves fan. So it is an unbiased viewpoint with no favoritism towards any team in general. And I think you’ll appreciate that because of the fact that you got backlashed pretty harshly for your albeit rejected (I think that’s the right word, I am not an English guy, but a Math and Numbers guy instead.) viewpoint.”

Would you guys agree? Should my comment on that topic not have been blocked? It might have been because I had just made another comment on the draft grades for the 2014 draft that I did not agree with the Wolves grade. And I admit what I said there was out of haste and ultimately a little judgementfull, but I do stand by it. I think I backed it up quite well with this comment on the “Wolves fan/draft reaction” topic. I’m sorry, if that’s the reason why, but I am not going to apologize for my opinion on the Wolves draft. (I don’t think I should have to apologize for my opinion). I’m sorry that I disagreed with the OP of that topic, but I don’t think my comment should have been blocked after I just respectfully disagreed with him.

a little brevity goes a long way. I bet it’s just Mercury in retrograde that caused a glitch in the net.

Sounds like it might’ve been a technical error.  I doubt anyone took anything you said too personally.  I don’t know if it warranted a new thread lol.  But yeah, sure, the Wolves can’t develop talent.

It probably doesn’t warrant a new thread. But I wanted to make sure that the OP of that topic could hear my opinion and voice. I wanted to backup my comment of draft grades topic this site had. And I thought this was the only way both things would happen since my comment was blocked. If it indeed was a technical error, then I’ll gladly forget it. But I think this site and ultimately the OP of that topic needed to hear my opinion.

Sometimes depending on which words you put in some words can trigger "spam" and it be not accepted. This has happened to me at least half a dozen times.

I do feel sorry for Minnesota and Milwaukee, they have a hard time keeping players and no "star" free agent would even think about going there

You started a whole thread about yourself….get over it. We’ve all had post blocked and no one else felt the need to cry about it in a new thread.

I put something in quotes and got blocked once. I took out the quotes and it let me post it. No one was trying to censor your posts. It was a bot most likely.
