BallinmvpParticipantESPN’s Marc Stein has tweeted that the warriors have made Thompson available in a deal for love, increasing their chances of landing him.

Hector_Reyes_8ParticipantIt’s Barnes, Thompson, and Lee for Love right? That’d mean that 4 of your 5 players (Crawford or Blake or something) would be 3-ball threats. Holy crap that’d be interesting.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantWolves wont find a better offer… They better jump on this as quickly as possible..
Rubio
Thompson
Barnes
Lee
PekThat’s a legit team right there.. With that group, Rubio may finally be able to put up assists numbers like people expected him to do..

HuskyWithATarHeelParticipantBoston may have the better deal as far as picks go, but this deal gives them immediate starters. T’Wolves gotta decide on if they want a complete rebuild or get some quality starters before Love leaves for nothing. I personally am I big Klay fan,

dcaseParticipantWould this trade make the warriors better and if so, by how much? I like the idea of pairing Curry with Love. If Bogut can stay healthy they would have a really good starting 5 (Curry, AI, Green, Love, and Bogut). My concern would be their depth would take a hit.

mds0549ParticipantAnything that can net you a player like Thompson is a great start, not sure that dealing Love and Martin makes the sense to replace them with Thompson and Lee but maybe they get a 3rd team involved.

Get a young SG and a future pick for him.

druneave3ParticipantThis is a players league and Love will determine where he goes. Luckily for Minnesota, GSW willingness to part with Thompson could turn out to be the best option for him. CLE, BOS, CHI, and other teams have all offered extremely high picks and a combination of young talent. #1 pick, Waiters, Thompson or #6, #17, Sully, Olynk or Taj, Jimmy, Mirotic and picks are all nice gets in return. However, if they can pry away Barnes and Thompson (and Lee), I think that would be the best haul in return.

tuck243ParticipantDo you really think the same owner (who said he has a bad taste in his mouth about it trading KG there) is still going to send Love to Boston? Especially for players that couldn’t get to the playoffs in the East? Not to mention, the Celtics aren’t sending over their Top 2 players either. Add the fact that no one from that KG trade is still on the Wolves, I’m not so certain that a Boston deal is one of their top deals for Love.
I rather have the Bulls players and picks… Or what the Warriors are offering me than what Boston can provide… That #6 pick, what player Minny need to have at 6 that won’t potentially be there at 13? Especially when you already have Sully, Olynk, Pek, and Dieng as big men?

Magic JordanParticipantThe interesting part is which Flip Saunders makes the trade? Is it the coach? Because if it’s the coach he would obviously rather have the GSW offer, better more established players.
Is it the GM? Beause Flip the GM would probably rather have the assets and picks.
I think by hiring himself as coach he basically said that he wants established players…. for some stupid reason.
If GSW throws Lee, Barnes and Thompson at them I don’t see how they can say no. That gives them a strong starting 5.

treytalkssports.comParticipantHere’s the unsaid thing about any deal with the Warriors and Wolves: it would have to include David Lee. Lee has been one of the most productive big men in the NBA, but his athleticism is fading and his injuries are becoming more serious. By the time his current contract is up, he might be one of the worst contracts in the NBA due to injuries.
However, Klay Thompson may be the perfect fit next to Rubio.
I think that the Celtics trade offer has to include one more first round pick now.

LPelusiParticipantIf this offer (Love+KMart / Klay+Lee+13th pick) is accurate, it would be a steal!
I think Klay is really overrated (not a bad player though shot 36% agains the Clippers in the Playoffs) and Lee is 31.
Love is a 25 year old all star and KMart would be a nice 3rd option… but really, the 13th pick in this draft is way too much.
I think it is a bluff straight to the Celts.

TallmanNYCParticipantSo Love in on pace for a lock, first ballot, hall of fame career. He is still only 25 and so probably not in his prime. GS could trade everyone on the team not named Curry and it would be a good trade.

Ghost01ParticipantI enjoy Bill Simmons, but I feel like he has thuroughly oversold the whole Boston option and it makes people think Boston is closer to Love than they are.
There only legitimate asset is a number 6 pick in this draft. Yes you are getting a fine player. But out of Aaron Gordon, Marcus Smart, and Julius Randle, you are rather short on guarantees, and the odds of any of those guys being better than Love are slim.
And outside of that all you are getting are picks from a team that will manically spend to stay mediocre in an awful conference. What value is that?
Oh, and Kelly Olynyk.
Thompson and Barnes are still younger players. Thompson has the potential to be really good, and Barnes probably still has as good a chance as anyone you could pick at #6. Add Lee on top of that, and possibly a pick, and that is a legitimate return. One top 10 pick and a bad player mixed with a bunch of unknown picks is not.

SnowtaParticipantFlip said he’s not trading 13. Broussards report was probably the gs offer. I don’t think the wolves do it if 13 is involved and Harrison isn’t. I love Klay but if u trade for just Klay and Lee two years from now it will basically end up being love for Klay. If that’s the best offer gs gives then you go with Bos and start rebuilding with potentially 5 1sts over 2 years in what are two of the stronger draft classes in awhile.
