The title is no hyperbole, each win was by 15 points or more against the two time champs with the best player on the planet.

The Spurs showed one of the greatest displays of team basketball in recent memory and as a result are champions. Hats off to them.

    Is it October yet?

Basketball is a team sport and passing the ball is always faster than dribbling

Well, except for the two seasons prior to this one, when the AAU All-Stars won the title.

Well deserved for the Spurs.  They absolutely dominated the two-time defending champs, and made the Heat look like they didn’t belong.  Just a masterful performance by a great team.

This was very similar to that Dallas title with every key player locking in and being relentless in pursuing the common goal against a more talented team.

Better in context because of Miami having won their titles and all but still love to see teams play with such dedication and mental toughness.

Also, gotta love Splitter blocking Wade like that, was a great moment for him.

And Patty Mills showing the Socceroos how to be champions haha.

Yeah, it reminds of Barcelona’s soccer team with the famous tiki taka. It is sort of outdated now, but it was really dominant a few years ago. Unselfishness = easy scoring

Bill Simmons brought up an eerie point a few games ago.

10 years ago, the superstarless Pistons faced the threepeat Lakers in the Finals. LA tied the series at 1-1 and it looked like the defending champs were poised to make another run at the title. However, through great defense and team play, the Pistons pulled the upset and Chauncey Billups won Finals MVP in spite of the fact that he hadn’t even been named to an All Star team yet.

Obviously the Spurs have a legendary trio, but it’s fun to look at the similarities of a decade ago (and the Spurs would go on to beat those Pistons a year later in a great 7 game series).

That 04 Pistons team was the biggest underdog that I have EVER seen win a championship in the NBA. Larry brown and Pop……It’s complete dedication to effort, strategy and detail. The Lakers had maybe the best two players in the league WITH on older Malone and GP. They coasted a lot thru games and it came back to bite them. I would have never thought that it one could be them in a series

This year with the Spurs, they just never stopped. As well as the played on offense, they might have played better on defense because they gave Miami no room to do anything. It was always close one on one D and if you drove you got doubled. They never let down no matter what Miam did. They were so mentally consistent. AND they didn’t bail them out by fouling at all.

And guess who brought them back from being down 16 tonight? The bench. If I’m correct, Parker nor Duncan was in and the bench just went right into execution mode and they came back
