The8thDeadlySinParticipantHere are a few lineups that I want to see next season. I don’t know if they will ever happen but I think they would be interesting. The last one might be my favorite..
Knicks:
PG – Iman Shumpert
SG – Tim Hardaway Jr.
SF – Doug McDermott
PF – Amare Stoudemire
C – Andrea BarganiThis is assuming that the Knicks make a deal with the Lakers for the 7th pick and take Douggie Buckets with that pick. Raymond Felton and Tyson Chandler could probably lure the pick from the Lakers.. This lineup wont win many games unless Fisher does a fantastic job but what it will do is highlight Shumpert and Amare, whom I expect to have a nice bounce back year, by putting shooters all around them. Pick and Roll situations out of the Triangle Offense come after a few passes and guys like Hardaway, McDermott, and Bargs should be smart enough to take their shots when they are open and pass when they aren’t.. Lastly, Amare and Bargs expire after next season so the Knicks would have 3 players in place, jumpstarting the rebuild and giving them direction to go with future pieces.. Either Shump would be moved for bigs or he would be the future PG..
Celtics:
PG – Jeremy Lin
SG – Zach LaVine
SF – Chandler Parsons
PF – Jeff Green
C – Jared SullingerThis assumes that the Rockets and Celtics work out a sign and trade with Rondo and Wallace moving for Lin and Parsons.. A move that im sure both teams would entertain. This group, IMO, could fight for a playoff spot in the East.. If LaVine turns into Clay Thompson, whom some people compare him to, this team suddenly becomes hard to deal with.. If Sully is a full time C, they will never get past the big teams because of no rim protection but as far as the Celtics becoming interesting once again, this would make it happen..
76ers:
PG – Michael Carter-Williams
SG – Nik Staskus
SF – Jabari Parker
PF – Nerlens Noel
C – Omer AsikThis clearly shows that the 76ers have moved Thad Young for Asik.. People will hate on this because they 76ers would be starting 3 rookies full time but it has been said from the start of this past season that they are looking towards the future.. Staskus and Parker are the most ready now of any 2 guys and have higher ceilings that most people in the draft. Noel paired with Asik lets Noel be a weak side defender instead of a primary defender. Lets him get eased into the rough post of the NBA.. The trio of Parker, Noel, and Asik should be an amazing rebounding group, a good defensive group, but a weak offensive group. Noel has been working on his game and is rumored to have a jumper out to 18 feet.. Looks like he is getting the Ibaka treatment where they are going to expand his jumper slowly..
Rockets:
PG – Rajon Rondo
SG – James Harden
SF – Thaddeus Young
PF – Terrance Jones
C – Dwight HowardI don’t like to see anyone fail but this team would be prime to do it.. OR, they could win it all. In this universe you read about above, the Rockets made 2 moves to give them Rondo and Young.. Moves that I can seen them doing. Now on paper, this team should contend with the Spurs and Thunder for the top seed in the West, however, I can see it being a disaster.. Regardless, I would like to see these guys come together and give it a go.. Would be interesting to see the personalities mesh and see the results on the stat sheet.. Would Rondo be okay with Harden playing terrible defense and forcing shots but still getting the praise?? Could Dwight handle Rondo’s competitive nature, because that’s one thing he didn’t like about Kobe.. I want to see it..
Lakers:
PG – Raymond Felton
SG – Kobe Bryant
SF – Wes Johnson
PF – Pau Gasol
C – Tyson ChandlerThis is a product of trades made in the previous paragraphs. I think this group would be pretty good.. It would be a short sighted attempt to please Kobe but they would make the playoff assuming everyone stayed healthy and could possibly make a run if they could get a supporting cast.. If Gasol and Kobe could have renaissance years, ,which does happen (Tim Duncan), they could be a scary playoff team..
Bulls:
PG – Derrick Rose
SG – Jimmy Butler
SF – Mike Dunleavy
PF – Kevin Love
C – Joakim NoahThis one would only happen if Kevin Love forced a trade and teams lowballed the Wolves.. Boozer plus the 16 and 19 pick… Wolves could amnesty Boozer and look to restart with those 2 picks plus their own. If Derrick Rose returned to close to what he was, this team is scary.. Now, they would need to retain Gibson for all of this to work out really well, they would need to keep Augustin and see if Snell is going to pan out.. But Rose, Love, and Noah are a great core and guys like Butler are vital for teams to win.. Can coach Thibbs manage minuets enough to keep guys fresh? Can he figure out a way to get Rose and Love over 20 points a game every night?? Lots of questions but a super exciting team.

MattP31ParticipantI don’t think there is any chance the Sixers trade Thad for Asik. I can see them dealing for Asik, but not for Thad. Thad’s probably going to be dealt for either young pieces or draft picks instead of a guy that has just one year on his contract, especially when Thad has 2 years left assuming he picks up his player option for the team he is dealt to.

KidBParticipantI agree that’s a great lineup for the Sixers. A good mix of offense and defense, plus rebounding. Points would come in bunches from Stauskas, Parker, and MCW.

jazzfan1ParticipantPG Trey Burke
SG Alec Burks
SF Aaron Gordon
PF Enes Kanter
C Derrick Favors
Much has been made about Kanter and Favors not fitting together, but with a new system, a green light on Kanter shooting 3’s, it should work just fine. Gordon would be perfect for the Jazz, Randle is too close to Kanter in how he plays.
Just a couple notes, Hayward isn’t going anywhere, Snyder is a perfect hire, Jazz will be much improved. Rumor has it Jazz are looking for a 3rd pick, I think it’s to get a shooter.
If by some chance Exum drops, Jazz will draft him. Otherwise Gordon or Vonleh, but I think he’s a smokescreen (Vonleh)

Captain LParticipantAs a Jazz fan I’d love to see the Jazz take Gordon and therefore have the starting line up as you list it !!! Even if Exum slides, I hope the Jazz take Gordon, the only players I’d take over Gordon are the top 3. I agree that Kanter will come ready to shoot the 3 this yr and that will open up the court , Gordon is a good passer as well as being a great athlete/defender, with the team as now constituted Gordon brings what the Jazz need, he can play the 3 and the 4 and guard both positions . His shooting is improving and with his work ethic I see him making his shooting a positive part of his game. At 23 I hope the Jazz can choose between Anderson, RGIII or Warren, maybe add Clarkson.
0- Posted on: Sun, 06/15/2014 - 12:55pm #919382

Bigdog2002ParticipantWhy would Jazz take Gordon? With Kanter, Favor and Gobert (seen in summer league, got potential) they are loaded up front and if Heyward comes back, no room for him in front court, they could trade Kanter, they need a vet on this team not another guy they have to wait to fully develop like Gorbert. Snyder need to make head way now, still in Sloans shadow, Jabbari Parker would be perfect, they need to trade up for him give both picks if necessary to Philly to get him.

Captain LParticipantIt would be nice if the Jazz could move up to get Parker but I don’t see it happening, it would take giving up more than Kanter and 5 & 23 and more than that is probably more than the Jazz want to give up. Gordon is a much different player than Favors or Kanter, he can play both the 3 & the 4 and especially defensively he can play against wing players, he has good handles and his shot is improving, making playing the 3 on offense a possibility, we need a long athletic 3 , so getting Parker would be ideal but it won’t happen, so IMO Gordon is the best player with the potential to impact this team with what he brings. I will be OK with Exum or Vonleh if either is who the Jazz pick but I like the possibilities Gordon brings.

Captain LParticipantAnother point to the fact I’d like to see the Jazz take Gordon is many liken Gordon or say he plays like or could play like AK47 and Shawn Marion both are really good players and both played the 3 more than the 4 during their careers, (mostly 3 during their primes) the things those players bring to the game are the things the Jazz need in a player and Gordon’s athleticism is above theirs which makes his potential that much greater. Time will tell but I’d love to take the chance and see what we get.

TarHeelRavenParticipantBargnani playing the 5 would be a disaster. He’s paper soft and can’t rebound or defend at all. He would set the record for least rebounds for a center during a season in league history.

Chilbert arenasParticipantThat Rockets team of Rondo, Harden, Young, Jones, and Dwight would have absolutely no spacing.
@Jazzfan defensively that’d be a tough line-up but they would also lack necessary spacing. I will keep reiterating that Gordon is not a 3, not yet at least.

Ebown5ParticipantIt kills me that people keep mentioning Asik to the Sixers. This has to be by non Sixer fans because it shows a complete lack of understanding of the team.
We do not want to improve our team by signing or trading for veterans. Asik does nothing for a rebuilding team.
Also if he could play next to Noel then he could play next to Howard, which he has already proven that he can’t do.
The last thing that the Sixers want to do is to improve the team next year.. If Asik was here he would likely add 3-5 wins to the team by himself if not more. Making the playoffs would be a disaster for us so why flirt with it for a high paid non star?
We don’t have a coach fighting for his job, and we don’t have a fan base pressuring the team to win now. We are a rebuilding team that has been tanking for less than a year and trying to accumulate assets and maintain flexibility.

jazzfan1ParticipantChilbert, two things lead me to think that lineup would work, one is that Kanter really can stretch the floor, creating spacing a la Memo. I think this year will be huge for Kanter, as he and Favors were smashed together in Corbin’s offense. This spacing will open up drives for Gordon, also giving him more open shots. Gordon’s shooting and form are much better in the last few months, I think he can become an adequate shooter in time. His work ethic is superb. It will take time, this isn’t something that will happen overnight.
The important thing to remember is that Gordon can easily defend the 3 spot, offenses can be tinkered with.

drice4life1753ParticipantThe only thing that made me truly cringe was comparing Lavine to Klay Thompson. They really could not be more different/opposties when entering the draft.
Klay Thompson (Draft Day):
-Junior
-Proven Leader
-Consistent and hands down best shooter last 2 years
-High BBall IQ
-Marginal Athlete
-Decent Defense (really put in work here lately, very very solid now)
Zach Lavine (Draft Day):
-Barely 18 years old
-Not proven leader
-Inconsistent but very good shooter
-BBall IQ can’t be determined due to limited time and playing out of position
-One of best athletes in recent years, would be getting way more love on this area if it weren’t for Wiggins IMO…dude is an athletic freak
-Highly rated on defensive potential due to athleticism
Honestly Lavine would probably be getting even more love on the athlete aspect if Wiggins wasn’t in this draft. I live in Washington, attend Washington State University and saw Lavine play at Bothell High a couple times too. IMO, Lavine’s potential is much greater than Klay’s ON DRAFT DAY…..but at the same time Klay has already surpassed almost everybody’s initial expectations (besides WSU alums, and PAC-12 fans), and is now considered a top SG in the NBA w/ a developmental ability nobody had the foresight to see…GO COUGS!!!
