The Scare Crow RisesParticipant1st off I strongly believe that the 76ers will draft Andrew Wiggins 3rd Overall and that he can play some Sg in the NBA
The 76ers could be interested in adding Parsons and renting out Asik for the final year of that PP Contract signed a few years back (They need to hit the Cap Minimum and could even keep Asik longterm)
The Rockets save money by getting out of the last year of Asik’s deal and not extending the contract of Parsons, but they also get back a very good combo Forward and the 10th pick of the Draft to add a shooter or even a Pure Point Guard/Defender…
Who says No???
I get that Philadelphia would be losing the 10th pick for Parsons, but he is not worth it to a team like Philadelphia who could definitely use a shooter amd play maker like Chandler Parsons…
Young and Asik is a wash IMO, Omer clearly doesn’t want to play in Houston, the Rockets could use a stretch 4 like Thad and can draft a replacement SF 10th (Saric???)

TyroberParticipantI think Young would be a good fit in Houston, but I don’t see why the Rockets would let Parsons go for the 10th pick. The Rockets are in win now mode and trading a starting player for a 10th pick rookie would be a terrible idea. Don’t like it at all.

ConezdParticipantBut the Rockets wouldn’t lose a starting player for the 10th pick because they get back a starting player in Thad. Also, they definitely benefit more from the 10th pick than they do Asik. While I think it’s a huge coo to have a very good back up center, the guy has made it clear he wants out of Houston. Then the Rockets can choose which kind of player would fit them best with the pick (McDermott???) Philly gets a very good 3 man who is more valuable than the 10th pick to me because I think Parsons is on the cusp of being an all star caliber player. And they get Asik to play center next to Noel at PF so he has another year to put on some weight to defend the center spot after Asik leaves next summer. Good deal for both teams I think.

ConezdParticipantOh, and obviously Philly would lack a low post offensive player with both Asik and Noel lacking in that area but, chances are the 6ers will be a lottery team again next year, (not a bad thing) so it won’t matter too much and they can get a chance at an Okafor, Turner, Cliff Alexander to pair with Noel as an offensive option as a big.

Magic JordanParticipantYeah so the Rockets would give up a boarderline all star for the 10th pick. You Philly fans are ridiculous.

ConezdParticipantI’m from Orlando and have no affiliation with anything from Pennsylvania. But quite frankly my dude, Parsons will probably end up somewhere other than Houston. He’s gonna garner at least 11-12 mil a year. So, you think they can afford harden, howard, Lin and Asik this year and beyond? Also, if they have some pipe dream of picking up a K. Love or Melo? Fantasyland Rockets. So, yes, getting a solid stretch 4 and the 10th pick in the deepest draft in a few years is better than parsons leaving for nothing.

burgessfourParticipantwere in “win now” mode this is a great deal for them, but I don’t think Hinkie will risk losing the 2015 lotto protected

AwrightAwrightAwrightParticipantI wouldn’t make this deal. I don’t think Parsons and Asik, combined, are worth the #10 pick.

SwatLakeCityParticipantYou can’t trade Parsons. He’s a restricted free agent. You can’t trade him until July 1st and even then you can only sign and trade him. Besides this is not a good trade for either team. Maybe just Asik for Young and just that. (I’m not quite sure if the salaries work though)

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantThey could add Richardson and the 39th pick to pry away Asik and will make Parsons a Huge offer in July.
