Lotto StudParticipantI’m still a bit in favor of Parker being selected by Milwaukee if they are #1 after the Lottery comes about, but if they do not land the pick I will be swayed.
I’m a little torn on the Bucks selection between Parker & Wiggins right now. The thing here with me is that I feel as though, Wiggins will compliment Giannis the best from a defensive standpoint because of the length and range as a defender. Offensively I give the nod to Parker, because he’s more likely to create for himself all in the flow of the game and not isolate everyone else from contributing.
What are your thoughts? Who will compliment Giannis more?

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantFirstly, who knows if Giannis is going to be anything more than a #2 or #3 guy on a team? Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Greek Freak, I’m just not sure how he’s gonna pan out. Someone floated the idea of him basically being Nic Batum, and given that, I think it would be better to shoot for someone with upside. Milwaukee needs talent period. If I were GM, I would likely go for Wiggins because of the two-way potential. Wiggins and Greek Freak have the potential to be OBNOXIOUS defenders. Their offense can be taught and be brought along; athleticism like they have cannot.
That said, Parker would give them a go-to #1 guy, which they certainly don’t have on their roster. He and Greek Freak would actually complement each other really well, as GF could worry more about defense and hustle ball and not have as much pressure to score, and Parker could run the offense.
In my personal opinion, Wiggins would be the choice, because offense is easier to teach than athleticism and defense. But you can’t really go wrong either way. Hell, if Embiid’s back checks out, he could be worth it as well! No matter what, Milwaukee will be guaranteed a potential franchise player in the top 4.

MopgrassParticipantI think Gianni’s will be a star, but as of now, he is passive on offense. So is Wiggins. I think for a while they’d be an awful pairing. In the future, who knows?
Parker is a better pairing because he’ll take shots. However, I think they’re both SF’s. I know Alphabet is versatile, but Wiggins could play SG very naturally.
I’d just go for Embiid, but they just paid out big center money. Who knows? They could just surprise all of us and pick Exum. They’ll probably have options. It’s a good problem to have.

SwatLakeCityParticipantDon’t be surprised if Randle is their pick either. I hear they like him. Outside of Parker, he is the most NBA-ready prospect. He could be a star too. If the Bucks do slide out of the top 3 they might select Randle at 4. Also even though they have Sanders signed up for an extension, he didn’t show up this year. They might decide to trade him during the offseason for either a 2 or a 4. (I’m thinking a 2, or possibly the point and move Knight to the 2) Being that as it may, they might decide to go for Embiid at #1 instead of Parker or Wiggins.
Here is what I’m thinking the Bucks big board looks like: if top 3 pick-Wiggins, Embiid, Parker.
If 4th pick: Randle, Exum

juves4783Participanti think wiggins has the lateral quickness to guard the sg position. i don’t think giannis or parker can make that change. wiggins and giannis would probably be the most athletic wing combo in all of basketball. i think they are going to pick wiggins.

ibe12ParticipantI think the question should be how can Giannis compliment Parker or Wiggins. Although Giannis has skills for a guy his size we really don’t know how he will develop in the long run. Wiggins and Parker both have a higher pedigree and upside.

OhCanada-ParticipantWiggins is a true wing 2/3 prospect. Parker is a combo forward 3/4 prospect. Giannis is a SF until further notice with potential at SG and PF. Henson is a PF.
Unless they have no choice because Wiggins is off the board or they are confident with developing Giannis at SG Wiggins is the best fit. That would allow Giannis and Henson to develop in their natural positions.

ncballerThat lineup 2-4 is scary long and athletic…Giannis, Wiggins and Henson…wow. Could be scary in 3 years.

Lotto StudParticipantDon’t give up on Knight just yet, he deserves mentioning with that lineup.

Ghost01ParticipantIs it too simple to say they have the athletic/freak guy so to compliment him, going with the more skilled guy would make more sense? I know I favor Parker but I actually think Milwaukee is one where he would definitely be the better fit.

Land of GrantParticipantGiannis would have more fun running in transition with Wiggins than Parker. Also, Milwaukee have a bigger need at the 2 than at the 4, which is where Jabari would be playing, due to Giannis being a 3. So Wiggins edges it IMO, although I agree that Jabari’s polish would work much better than Wiggins in the halfcourt offense.

jwall1ParticipantIMO the Bucks need to go with Parker. As exciting as Giannis is, I see him as more of a glue guy like Batum who will be able to defend and do just about everything pretty well. Jabari Parker is a surefire star, and in a small market like Milwaukee you do not pass up on that. Wiggins has alot of potential, but so far he has not shown that killer instinct on a consistent basis that all NBA stars have…

HitsterParticipantGiannis is a very good prospect but he has not looked like being an instant star such as MCW at Philly who has locked down their PG role now. Also we have to consider does Giannis best fit at SG or SF, taking either Wiggins or Parker does not really affect this as Parker can play SF and even some PG whilst Wiggins can fit into SG or SF role initially. Remember that KG and Paul George both played SG initially before moving to SF in about year 3 as they had developed physically and were NBA ready to play their long term role.
Embiid is also a legit option for the Bucks regardless of if they already have Sanders as if he is as good as some think, he’ll be a big upgrade over Sanders and top big men are very hard to find. Plus Embiid, Henson and Giannis gives the team insane length and great defensive options.
Personally at the moment I might prefer Parker for the Bucks but everything depends on where they finish in the lottery.

machu46ParticipantGiannis is absolutely best suited to play SF. Personally, I prefer taking Wiggins or Embiid (if his back is cleared), and possibly even Exum over Jabari, but I’ll be happy with any of the four.
If Jabari can bulk up and play PF, I think that Giannis, Jabari, and Larry (if he ever removes his head from his ass) could be a devastating trio. I think Milwaukee is going to develop into a strong defensive team, so if we hypothetically drafted Jabari, the rest of the team’s defensive abilities might be able to cover up his weakness while his offensive gifts would be a huge acquisition.
