Reason #1. The hype and change of Paul George

The superstar hype of Paul George has destroyed the team. In the early years, PG was a great all round player mainly with defense and versatility to glue the team in its holes. PG has changed his game to become an Iso scorer, with the mentality that he is a superstar. This severly hurt the games of Hibbert and G. Hill as they now are just ball watching and doing nothing on offense at all. Hibbert and Hill are by no means off the hook, as they should be trying to prove that one is the best center in the nba and the other is a very good point guard. While PG’s talents may be better this year with 21 ppg, 6.4 rebs and 3 asst, the last year PG was as 17.4 ppg 7.6rebs and 4.1 asst made the whole team better.

    Reason #2. Soft for years

This team has been punked for years by Miami. Miami basically legally punched and leveled Lance, Pyscho T 2 years ago and Hibbert this year and they never even got a scracth from doing it. Pacers team needs to send a message to Miami that if you hit our players u gonna wake up in the emergency department. Miami is waiting to punk this team again. You can’t win an NBA title getting punked.

Paul George is best suited as a 2nd scorer and primary play maker for Indiana, ala Scottie Pippen. The Pacers need a scorer who can put up 20+ a game.

George as a 18-20ppg 7-8rpg and 4-5apg along with stellar defence at the moment is his best option, however I am not giving up on his potential for growth and become that number one option.

The Pacers don’t have that scorer, George is the best that they have. If Kyrie Irving is still unhappy in Cleveland would a package of Stephenson and Hibbert be able to get it. Again guys like Kevin Love would be a great scorer as number one option in Indiana, yes this is over exaggerated which is just proving my point.

I just think the way they play is stupid you arguably have 2 of the most athletic wings in the league yet you walk the ball up the court every play i think if they push the ball more they can be a way better team instead of always having to play against a set defense… I just think it would be easier hopefully voguel realizes it soon.

Indiana better wake up.  That god-awful pre-playoff stretch has found its way into the playoffs.  If they lose the next game in much the same way they did last night, it might be over for them this year.

Well if it does end all I can say is expect changes. Turner deserves more time as when he has started he has been really good and for the love of mike put Copeland on the court.

David West, Luis Scola and Roy Hibert we’re thoroughly outplayed. 0-2 combined from three. 2-4 combined from the free throw line. Dominated by (still) one of the most underrated players in the league in Paul Millsap. West seemed pouty, Scola seemed scared and Hibbert seemed lost.

Even if the frontcourt trends back to the mean and plays better, it seems like George and Stephenson need to average 45+ points between them.

I can’t see them getting past the Bulls or the Wiz at this point. Their offense is just terrible. And their defense is barely held together by Hibbert. The good thing is that the Hawks are also really bad. So they have an entire series to figure things out before they play a real NBA playoff team.

Right now though, if I were a Bulls fan, I’d be saving money for Eastern Conference Finals tickets. That looks like it will happen.

About two months into the league I would hvae bet that the Pacers were going to win it all.  They remind me a lot of Kentucky this year.  All this talent, but unable to handle the grind.

It’s really strange to see a team lose it’s identity mid-season.  At the beginning of the year, the Pacers were hungry, nasty, and people were comparing Paul George to Lebron.  Now the Pacers are timid, unsure and soft.  Hibbert looks weak, tired, and worn down.  Vogel even said himself that he looked tired.  George Hill made Jeff Teague look like a league MVP.  The Pacers give out those "Blue Collar, Gold Swagger" t-shirts to all the fans like they did last year, but last night they had neither.  If the Pacers don’t regain their nastiness and hunger soon, it will be a stunning first round playoff exit to the confident Hawks.
