According to Adrian Wojnarowski the Clippers and Knicks are in talks to trade Iman Shumpert and Raymond Felton for Darren Collison.  What do you guys think?  Obviously the Clippers would have to include more salary to make it work.  It seems like a good deal to me.  Felton is horrible and Collison isn’t great but he’s better than Felton.  Shumpert would provide the Clippers with something that they lack because they don’t have much athleticism on the wings.

The Clippers definitely come out on top on this trade.  It’s highway robbery.

If the Clippers included Reggie Bullock, I think it’s a pretty good deal for the Knicks.  Collison’s contract is up in time for them to try to make their splash in free agency anyways, and Bullock is a decent prospect.  I’m admittedly not as high on Shumpert as some though, so I guess it’s still bad for the Knicks if you think Shumpert has starter potential.

Apparently, Reggie Bullock would be part of this deal, if it were to go down.

If this were to happen, Shumpert would have a career year next season.

Getting help on offense by playing next to Chris Paul and improving on defense by being coached by Doc Rivers.  It would definitely help his game on both ends.

Not sure why the Knicks would do this…  Collison is a little bit of an upgrade over Felton, but any advantage you gain from that is lost in giving up Shumpert.  I woud hope the Clippers would be including something else.

The Knicks shouldn’t do it, as it leaves them weaker for the future, as you could just hold on to Felton, let him walk, and alway Shumpert to develop along side Hardaway Jr as the wings of the future.

Of course, this means the Knicks will probably do it. Oh, how I feel about my team.

Horrible Trade! Felton is much better than Collinson, Shumpert is much better also.

Point Guard is not the knicks probably, they have no inside scoring or defense .  Chandler is declining rapidly(on defense too) , Amare is average to below average player at this stage, and Bargani is not very good either.

-I might trade Shumpert because I believe him and Tim Hardway Jr are essentially the same type of player. But for Shumpert they have to get a quality big ala Kenneth Faried.

Felton much better then Collison? When CP went down Collison was extremely efficient and had 46.5% FG, 38.0% 3P, & 86.8% FT. He was only 6 players in the league who were aveaging at least 46% FG, 35.0% 3P, and 85% FT. The other 5 were Chris Paul, JJ Redick, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Dirk Nowitzki. Tell me Felton is better then Collison.

What?!?! Why would the Knicks do this? The reason Shumpert is on the trading block is because he’s actually a good player that can garner us long-term assets. You don’t give him away for nothing?!

What the Knicks should be doing is trying to package Shump with Bargnani (ideally) or with Chandler (more likely), and get back picks with young talent.

Plus, as bad as Felton is….. is shedding his $3m a year contract that important?!?! Good lord this makes me depressed as a Knicks fan. I’m at my wit’s effing end.

Felton showed up big time in the playoff series against the celtics last year. Doc Rivers said he was the reason they lost. He as torched Miami on many occassion(even when lebron was guarding him), hes not playing great this year because he was injured a good chunk of the season. He’s a true point guard who can get others involved and defend, not many of those in the league. Collison has had opportunities to be a starting point guard and he failed in Dallas, he proved he can play well in stretches, he is a great backup, prob a top 3 back up PG in the league.

The Clippers would love to have Shumpert to go onto their roster and Felton would be a solid back up for CP3 so they definitely win that trade. The Knicks may upgrade their PG a bit but they lose their best young player to do so.
