qDizzle32ParticipantWe’ve seen a number of former players like Allen Iverson who made around $200 Million Dollars during their NBA careers who later on went bankrupt after their retirements. There were also players like Antoine Walker who had bad gambling habits who later on had to come out of retirement to get more money to support himself. Kenny Anderson threw millions of dollars away with the number of times he’s been divorced and for paying child support for his nearly dozen baby mommas. Ray Williams even ended up sleeping in the streets as he could no longer afford a home. It seems impossible to go bankrupt with hundreds of millions of dollars but it can very well happen depending on how wisely one spends their money. Buying a whole garage of unneeded cars with custom rims on every single one of them and going on vacations to Japan with a group of 15 people and paying for all of their expenses such as food and hotel rooms are few of many examples of how catastophies like this can happen. Which current NBA players could follow Iverson, Walker, Anderson, Sprewell, Baker and the rest of the players by going bankrupt after their careers?

QuickPostCParticipantJohn Stockton. I hear he got a parking ticket and he wasted a tenth of one paycheck on an underperforming mutual fund. His life was spiraling out of control at that point.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThis is very difficult to predict because we don’t know any of these players personally.
Brandon Jennings is a guy that seems to love a lavish lifestyle but during his rookie year, he moved into a condo a mile away from the training facility in Milwaukee so he wouldn’t spend much on gas or a big house. The first car he bought with his rookie contract? A Ford Edge.
Apparently, he also bought a Camaro a couple of years ago.
He’s been saving his money since he’s been in the NBA.

qDizzle32Participant#1 on my list would definitely be JR Smith everything about his personality pefectally puts him on track to follow those guys. Michael Beasley has been busted for drugs multiple times since he went to rehab after his rookie year. Along with his personality, he’d might have it just as bad as JR. Even as a Kings fan, I hate Demarcus Cousins’ personal image more than any other player in the NBA. Even though I have never heard of how Cousins uses his money, I could totally see it happening to him. Another would be John Wall. Also James Harden paid stripper Jenna Shea 20k to have sex with him and he supposedly pays his girlfriens 50k a month to stay with him. Harden is the type of guy to lose all of his money towards women cuz he’s a pimp lol.

phila9012ParticipantI guess I have never heard of this, but Harden is dumb, especially if he pays his girlfriend $50,000 a month, some sites were reporting it, I don’t know how true it is though. It is weird how so many people hate Lebron, but for a superstar with all that money he married his high school girlfriend and has 2 kids with her. He doesn’t seem to party as much as the average player in his position would and he seems like a genuine nice guy unlike Jordan or Kobe. He has no off the court issues. He came from a poor home with out a father and he turned out great. Sorry, the media always talks about how bad players are and they don’t talk about the few truely great role models for kids.

llperezSprewell has to be one of the biggest idiots ever. The wolves actually offered him 3 years for like 24 million and he turned it down saying no way was he taking a paycut from his previous contract of 15 mill per because he "had kids to feed". So he never signed another deal. Of course if you read up on latrell and some of his actions throughout his career, this wouldn’t surprise you. Guy was not known for his character.

Jester87ParticipantThere was a report on Grantland’s youtube channel in which Jalen Rose explained how athletes go broke. I don’t remember exactly if he was alone or with BS, by the way it was interesting.
As for Iverson, I read somewhere that he isn’t really busted, he’s just wasted a lot of money, but he’s still doing quite well because one of his guys forced him to put a lot of the money of Reebok’s sponsorship deal in a bank account Iverson can’t touch until he gets old, he just gets $1M dollar per year from it he probably squander in 6 months, but that’s another story.
