princejamesParticipantIt’s Crazy How Some Of You Guys Are turning into Andrew Wiggins Haters for know realistic reason and with-out possessing a validating argument. Yes Andrew Wiggins is overhyped in a very unrealistic way, but he is also a legit big-time NBA prospect. He is by far the most talented defender and the most gifted athlete with-in the 2014 draft class. And he possesses a solid foundation of skills that will get better with time, experience, and training. Is he the best player with-in college basketball this year – hell no, but does he have the most potential when being compared to any other 2014 nba draft prospects – hell yes. I believe in Andrew Wiggins and think that he has the talent to develop into a very good NBA player. And to keep it real with everybody, it’s too early in the season to critically really determine who is the best nba prospect with-in this 2014 draft class. We all have to be patient with Andrew Wiggins and give him the opportunity to really show us what he is capable of, in terms of his skill level, talent, and potential to achieve greatness

KHAM83ParticipantI haven’t seen anyone hate on him, just say that’s he’s "overhyped in an unrealistic way" like you say yourself.

princejamesParticipantunrealistic meaning – Not compatible with reality or fact
Andrew Wiggins comparisons to Lebron James, Micheal Jordan, Kobe Bryant, And Dr.J. Are comparisons that don’t compliment reality.
But the potential for Andrew Wiggins to develop into a very impactful and dynamic NBA player is realistic.
Haters of Andrew Wiggins do exist on this website. And I’m not one of them. I believe in being patient, studying players weaknesses and strengths, and giving prospects the opportunity to show why they are highly regarded. And then focusing on giving realistic views and opinions that compliment reality

HOops1562ParticipantIt is way to early in the season to determine the best player in this draft class that’s why we have to wait 4-5 years down the line before we make our opinions ….. judging Wiggins Parker or Randle off one game or a small sample size is just stupid … it seems this website is very in the moment … one bad game "he’s a bust" one good game "wow i think he could be a hall of famer" it’s truly comical

jwall1ParticipantI agree. I think the problem is that Wiggins was way overhyped. It is just not realistic to expect that he will be the next Lebron. His offensive game is pretty raw and hes got a long way to go. He could definitely still go number one, but I think Parker or Randle could also go number 1. Parker and Randle are much more refined on the offensive end, but they don’t stack up to Wiggins athletically (not that many players do). Im not a Wiggins hater, but if I had the number one pick, I’d choose Parker or Randle. Although Wiggins has the highest ceiling, his offensive game may not ever develop, which would be pretty disappointing. It is early in the season, so we will see how his game develops as the season goes on.

dacula18ParticipantI don’t hate Wiggins. I just simply think Parker is better currently and will continue to be better in the future. Just because someone isn’t saying Wiggins is the second coming of Michael Jordan, doesn’t mean they’re hating on them.

AmiableBaller34ParticipantI think this argument is based off of semantics, and how we as humans talk about other people. We like to use superlatives when describing these kids, and sometimes we get a little lazy. Saying a player is "generational" isn’t enough, so when people finally watch players like Wiggins and Parker play they expect to see college KD and Shaq, when in reality, Wiggins/Parker/Randel are all on pace to reach their respective potentials, even if they aren’t putting up mind-boggling stats. Wiggins was pegged as a do everything player who has potential to turn into a more committed Tracy McGrady. I don’t know about you guys, but I still feel that way, and when I watch him play I still see an amazing prospect

Ghost01ParticipantI am not hating on Wiggins.
I actually argued last year I thought Parker could be number 1.
Based on everything I have seen I truly believe in my opinion that Parker is a better player now, and is a better NBA prospect. That is all I believe. I do not hate Andrew Wiggins, I do believe he was overhyped only because the hype on him was silly unfair. Best prospect since LeBron? C’mon…
I believe Parker is a more skilled player who controls the game, can dominate a game, is efficient, effective, and carries himself like a star. I think his athletic ability is no joke, he is a formidable NBA athlete, and his skills will continue to get better.
Wiggins right now is kinda raw. Not a ton going on in his offensive game. Part of it is Kansas’ offense, part of it his offensive game isn’t great.
I don’t hate him, I don’t think he should go anywhere lower than 3. I don’t think he is a slouch or a bad prospect by any stretch. Just not quite the prospect Parker is. That is all.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantPlenty of people on this board have been torn on Wiggins/Parker since their junior years of high school. Just because someone prefers one to another does not mean that anyone is hating. People are entitled to their opinions even if it conflicts with the norm. It isn’t like the scouts are always right either…
