MUbballfanParticipantBoth are announcing at 3PM on Friday afternoon. Final three schools for each are Kansas, Duke, and Baylor. My guess would be that they pick Duke.
I’m imagining a scenario where both Jabari Parker and Rodney Hood return for to Duke for the 2014-2015 season, giving Duke a potential lineup of
1) Jones (or Cook, if he’s still there)
2) Sulaimon
3) Parker
4) Hood
5) Okafor
That looks like it has best college lineup ever potential.

LA12ParticipantI don’t know about best ever potential, but definitely one of the best (and probably the best) in the nation. But I think Parker will enter the draft this year.

MUbballfanParticipantYeah, you’re right, I’m jumping the gun saying it has best lineup ever potential, but it would sure as hell be an amazing lineup (If both Parker and Hood return, which is very unlikely)

i’m jus so offendedParticipantCliff Alexander is announcing too. As an Illini fan, I hope Jones and Okafor pick KU as Cliff has said he isn’t going to the same school as Okafor. He might pick Illinois regardless. It will be an exciting day for sure.

thricethefunParticipantCliff Alexander could make Illinois a top 10 team next year and really bring the program back into a relevance not seen since Self left.

i’m jus so offendedParticipantRight you are. Jaylon Tate and Rayvonte Rice have looked awesome so far. With Quentin Snider and Leron Black on board, plus transfers Darius Paul and Aaron Cosby being eligible, I think they would be a shoe in for top 10 status with Cliff. I’m optimistic and very excited to see if Groce can pull it off

Robb_CParticipantTyus Jones is pay to play type of recruit.. I dont think Duke will "Service" his needs..
Baylor might be the school that lands them.

PaulsJayhawksParticipantBaylor has zero chance in this imo. This is a two horse race between Duke and KU. I think Duke will win out on this one just a gut feeling. I think Jones wanted Duke, Okafor favored KU but will head to Duke to play with his buddy. Cliff was at Ku last weekend to visit his GF (one of the Gonzales twins) but does he feel slighted that KU went hard after Okafor…KU might get shut out on both but are still in good with Myles Turner.

canada2482ParticipantI think Baylor has a real shot
The answer we know is pending Injury Okafor is 1 semester and gone (if u know the NCAA rule you understand) regardless where he goes. Does Jones think he is 1 n done? if he does then he cannot do that at Duke or Kansas they both will have Sr.Guards in Cook and Tharpe respectively. Not saying he cannot beat them out but they will share a lot of time with him.Cook will basically be 2 1/2 yr starter at that point and tharpe will be a 1 yr starter and solid role guy for the other years.Along with the fact they have mason n the shooter conner as pg/sg’s as well there in KU. If Jones thinks 1 n done then Baylor is the play if they are a package.Maybe I am thinking too deep, IDK. I see Duke being listed as the Fav. Duke is all in with Okafor if they miss on him then turner their recruit class and team next yr will be in serious trouble.
Cliff- I dont think he is dating 1 of the Gonzalez Twins, Not sure if this make KU a leader, whoever gets him is thinking 1 n done for sure –http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-basketball/story/2013-09-24/cliff-alexander-recruiting-2014-kansas-final-six-twitter-memphis-illinois

MUbballfanParticipantAm I the only one confused as to why Baylor is being considered by these two? They seem to be on the final lists of a lot of these top recruits’ lists, even though they haven’t done much special (not trying to be a jerk here, just in comparison to other top schools). Seems fishy to me..

SiggyParticipantNo, you’re not. Maybe they’re offering the best "package." Unless the player is local and would like to stay close to home, I don’t get why Baylor would be intriguing at all. Maybe they have really nice facilities? I really don’t know because it can’t be: program history, fan base, coaching, style of play, recent success, history of preparing prospects for the next level, etc.
