I have been amazed with the way he’s looked so far. Yeah it may only be the preseason but he’s leading the NBA in scoring and this really looks like his year. Jrue Holdiay is the type of PG who will get his big men involved way more than Grevis Vasquez would with AD. The Pelicans were already the winners of this offseason by trading Nerlens Noel for Jrue Holiday, an already proven All Star rather than somebody with a lot of potential which also convinced Eric Gordon to stay and by signing Tyreke Evans and I also thought that was smart to buy Jeff Withey from Portland. NO will be one scary team to face in the playoffs.

IMO Anthony Davis is going to be a great player in the NBA, his abilities on both ends of the floor is up there with the best in the NBA already.

But being an all-star is about more than just skill, its about being recognized over others. The center spot is going to be packed in the west with Duncan, Howard, and Marc Gasol (maybe Cousins) going for 2 or 3 center spots on the team. So Davis will have to make it among players like Dirk, Griffin, Pau , and Love. There might end up being a Forward spot left for him at the end but we will have to wait and see.

I would pencil in Anthony Davis as part of the all-star team this season if he stays healthy. He probably won’t start but he will definitely be an all-star. He is already a game changer on the defensive end. He has perimeter skills and is a future superstar in my opinion.

I mean, he COULD, yeah. A ton needs to go right for them to make the playoffs, especially figuring out their backcourt and defense, but that doesn’t mean Davis can’t make the All-Star squad if they struggle. Kevin Love, Jrue Holiday, and others have made appearances on struggling teams.

There are quite a few big men he has to beat out but he’s got a shot and I hope progresses to where he’ll need to be to make the All-Star Game. That’s quite the ascension from Year 1 to Year 2 but if anyone can the lock as the 2012 #1 pick could.

Yes, he has a chance at being an all star this year. He’s having a great preseason so far.

Well I feel Davis will have a “break out” season, but let’s see who’s in front of him as an West All Star.

2013 All Star: Aldridge, Griffith, and Lee

and ex-All Stars: Nowitzki, Randolph, Pau, and Love

That’s some really good talent there!

I can see it. I think he likely could (and should) surpass David Lee, and he could easily get ahead of Blake Griffin. He is so good, so young that I think he has the best chance of becoming a franchise player of any young player in the league

A West squad next year with both Steph Curry AND Anthony Davis would be pretty scary! Especially if Kobe and Westbrook are both healthy, and Dwight Howard is back to being Dwight Howard.

The West is loaded with big men, but I wonder if Tim Duncan would just sit out the all-star game anyway. If he decides to rest, they would still have Dwight, Marc Gasol, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, and Anthony Davis inside. And maybe Dirk too if they decide to go with six bigs.

Zach Randolph made the all-star team last year and I don’t think they will give him a 3rd appearance with some more prominent big men also wanting in. And, since I believe that Marc Gasol will reappear as a Western Conference All-Star, I don’t think they will put two Grizzlies on the team.

Out West, I wouldn’t count out Iggy or Kawhi Leonard to be the fourth wing on the team behind Durant, Harden, and Kobe.

At point guard, it looks like there will be four locks: Chris Paul, Tony Parker, Russell Westbrook, and Steph Curry.

Who’s Anthony Davis? Don’t you guys mean Antonio Davis. I hate to burst your bubble, but he may be on the downside of his game.

He’s the guy who saved Gilbert Arenas’ dad from a cement pouring accident in 1995.

He’s making it look easy in the pre-season, which is what good players should do. You have LA, P.Gasol, Z-Bo, Griffin, Love and Lee out west with him, so I’m not sure if this year is his year, unless injuries hit the vets. That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him have a great double double campaign at maybe 17 ppg 11 rpg with 2 blocks per. He’s got the potential to be an elite player, in my opinion.

As people point out, you have to knock someone out to take an All Star spot. There are only so many. If Love stays healthy (and it is likely he does since his injury last year was of the freak nature), his stats will be better than Davis. So Love is going to be a lock. I think Griffin will also be a lock. Love will probably knock out Lee. Also Pau might be getting huge touches and shots. So he could easily become a 20 and 10 guy again.

Davis should be much improved and better recognized, but the leap to All Star might be too much.
