Tony Wroten showing his outstanding talent level, potential, and upside. And Kyrie Irving looking like a prodigy through showing his very fun to watch and special skill level

quick question, that stutter step move tony wroten did at like 1:20, would that be a travel in real nba? bc i see ppl doing that in pick ups. isn’t that like 4,5 steps? or is there no limit to how many steps you can take in between dribbles? Another thing i’ve been confused about is what is a dribble? when does it start and end? For instance, when people say gather step, i take that to mean the step the player takes as he ends his dribble and begins to take his 1,2. But when does the dribble end?

Yeah it would be more times then not I done this move. The key to it is not doing it while the ball is in your grip only do it when the ball is out of your grip coming to your hand or leaving your hand. Somtimes you can slow it down or do it fast but just shake your lower body and a freeze and confuse the defender. I have had walk called plenty of times … “IF” they catch me doing it lol. I learned it from a Chauncey billups basketball dvd years ago. yeah just don’t have the ball in your hand and it isn’t a travel but sometimes in game we want to protect that ball and hold on during the move and that’s how ppl get called for walking.

I was there and thought it was a travel in person. I think the refs just try to stay out of a pro am game especially one like that which was just a special guest game that had nothing to do with seeding and was purely entertainment.

Kyrie is nasty, no doubt we knew that. But Tony Wroten has loads of possibility, the kid makes great moves to the basket and his passes? They looked great in that video.

theres something about jeff greens game that intrigues me… he doesn’t have the nicest moves or the prettiest handle but he somehow still finds a way to score.. im hoping he has a big season for boston in ’14

A better indication of Wroten’s ability was his play in summer league. He was trash. The Grizz FO watched it, reviewed the tape and decided that they didn’t want him on their team. Wroten plays like he has no brain. He’s not a PG, he just thinks he is. He also loves to play with the ball in his his hands despite being a detriment to his team when he’s on the ball since he’s such a horrible decision maker. Playing for a bad 6er team might prolong his stay, but I doubt he stays in the league much longer.

The title is misleading. The two didn’t really go at each other at all. Kyrie was impressive as usually, and Wroten looked like any average guy in a street ball And1 type game to me.

I honestly don;t think I have seen a player with the high level of skill that Irving has. 2:40 Shammgod was a beut to watch. I wonder what Wroten shooting % were, I rather his J was broken coming out of college

I love the kid but despite all his decision making woes(I blame youth) he really needs to work on that Jump/set shot thing. All the handles and passes are sweet but weve seen them before. I dont get how guys get in the league and dont get a shot doctor right away. Thats what will stop his progress because he obviously wants to get to the rim at all time bt whos gonna respect him defense will sag off and unless it transitiion he becomes a liability. Killing himself but atleast he might get a chance to show out in Philly
