He averaged 14.7 ppg, 7.4 assists, 3 rebound and a 17.5 PER, at 27 years old. Until I looked it up I didn’t realize his stats were so promising. He shot 44, 32 and 75 from the line. He has a nice stroke and you would expect his 3 pointer to be above 32 percent but maybe its a combination of a lot of factors, regardless arguably their two most useful assets play the same position, and a potential Gortat trade will almost certainly happen before the deadline, when Len is healthy.

His contract is at 7.5 for 13-14 and 14-15. In 15-16 he has a 7.5 million dollar player option.

Do the Suns keep him and Bledsoe this whole year or dump him now?

We know Sarver is a cheap SOB and a pg tandem in a tank season of Bledsoe and Kendall Marshall would cost like 4.3 million for 48 minutes of pg play. Marshall came on late last year and he is on a rookie deal but he needs the play on a team with threats everywhere to ever even be a serviceable guy. PHX is the opposite of wing threats everywhere.

What do you guys think, it seems that PHX is really quiet in FA and so they must be ready the deal, what would be some possibilities?

I wonder if they would take a crack at Derrick Williams, they must have seen him up close at Arizona and he is on the market as much as any player in the league. In hindsight, if Minny offered Williams and the 9th pick for the 5 so they could have had McLemore I would have been all over it.

I’m not sold on EB and his stock is real high right now. If you can (and I don’t know the rules) trade him to Orlando or somebody for some draft picks. They are talking like he’s going to break the bank next year.

If the pistons loose out on calderon, I think they should call the suns about dragic. Good court vision very poised

Good catch..I agree. I’ve always liked Dragic, and I thought that his passing game was great…he would mesh well with Drummond and continue to provide some youth as well. Who would the pistons give up for him?

You can always keep Dragic as back up or play along side Bledsoe at times. Back PGs can bring tremendous value sometimes, just look at what Jarrett Jack did for the Warriors this season.

Dragic’s contract is very attractive for an average starting caliber point who can also play a combo role.
They can go any number of ways with Dragic because of how flexible and attractive his contract is.
Me personally, I’d hold onto him another yr. I wouldn’t trust Bledsoe as a starting PG just yet. If they do decide to start Bledsoe, Dragic has the type of size and game to start next to him.

Siggy your not sure if Bledsoe is ready to be a starter? Aren’t you the one who said during the middle of the season that he was be better than John wall? That was a pretty ridicoulous statement.

No i’m not. He was great in bursts in a less pressurized role where he wasn’t in charge of leading a team. He’s productive but not quite a floor general yet. He still struggles to organize a half court offense…which ironically Wall does as well.

And no I never definitively said that Bledsoe was better than Wall, I simply posed the question while listing attributes and characteristics that Bledsoe has over Wall to make that argument. Up until that point (Wall had not even played a game during the season when that thread was made), Wall wasn’t even a league average starting PG IMO. So saying that one PG could be a better than a PG who isn’t even league average isn’t quite a leap. Here’s the thread:

You don’t think that wall is an average point guard right now? SMH

Look at when that thread was made. He had not played a game this past season up to then. Through his first 2 seasons do I think he was an average starting PG up to that point? No. He was not a league average starting PG IMO. Couldn’t shoot, showed no progress in his shooting ability, inefficient, highly TO prone, couldn’t run a half court offense, not good in the PnR and poor defensively. That does not sound like an average starting PG to me.
He made strides this yr when he came back, such as in his mid-range game and defensively, while cutting down a little on his TO rate but a lot of those flaws remain. He’s the engine to that offense and he came back only to lead them to being the worst rated offense in the league. Not near the bottom, but the absolute worst.

There is a chance they just play them together similar to what the Bucks did with Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis. The Suns had to make the deal regardless because it was too good to pass up. I think you will end up seeing both Dragic and Bledsoe over 30mpg during the season. I am not sure how good of an idea this is long term but I think that is what we will see for the immediate future.

From what I’ve read they will be playing alongside each other quite a bit. After a while I’m sure they’ll look into trading Dragic.

I honestly didn,t know goran very well until he did a lot last season and the season before which i was impressed with. EB never been immpressed with and i actually knew who he was. Goran might not have better stats but better potential.
