BenAgent0ParticipantAccording to multiple outlets, the Wizards will offer Martell Webster a new contract today. If all goes as planned, Webster could sign the new deal as early as today.
Washington is also reportedly interested in Antawn Jamison, and they seem to have mutual interest.
The Wizards are also trying to acquire a backup point guard, and have inquired about Eric Maynor.
Personally, I’m glad they’ve made it a priority to bring Webster back. He was a huge factor in their improvement last season. Is he worth MLE? Probably not.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantIf he could ever stay healthy he could contribute. It’s fun to watch Webster play because he’s so gifted. Beautiful jumper and can dunk on people.

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantActually I think they’d give the heat a major headache with their size and PG play. I bet they’d at least pull off 1 game.

sportzryanParticipantI really hope they could atleast make it interesting (life long bullets “wizards” fan). To the OP, i think Jamison/Ariza/ would both be able to back up the PF and SF, with Webster able to backup the SG and SF so they have some versatility. Also, don’t forget Seraphin and Booker who provide some size and toughness off the bench as well. AND possibly Glen Rice JR. for SG/points off the bench if he keeps his head on straight.
In otherwords, my hopes are extremely high that the Wiz can start being a playoff team because anybody winning a title while LeBron/Durant are still in the league is out of the question due to the fixing that goes on. The only other teams that MIGHT have a shot at winning a title would be the lakers, clippers, or Nets by pure name value of the organization and/or players. Sorry I got off onto a tangent.
