Winning in Miami over winning in Cleveland.

I have been thinking about this since LBJ won last years finals with the Heat. My friends say I am crazy but honestly I don’t care what anyone thinks. This is just my opinion and it is mine to use. I think LBJ winning championships in Miami indeed does make him great, hell it may make him a top five player of all time. When it is all said and done though, I honestly feel that winning a championship in Cleveland is a lot more meaningful then winning triple championships in Miami. I feel like winning in Cleveland is like defying gravity, it can not be done. Had Lebron James done in Cleveland what he is doing in Miami, he would be better then Jordan. He would’ve done what no other person in the sports world has been able to do. Capture a championship for Cleveland.
Anyways, to make a long story short, Congratz to the Miami Heat and Lebron James on winning another championship. It was well deserved and well earned. It honestly, may have been the best game I have ever watched but in the end I just feel like winning it in Cleveland would have been bigger.
Alright, you can all neg me now. I’ve saved up points to be able to make an opinionated post so I can take all the hatred.

Well by this theory he should just leave in free agency to go back to Cleveland to go play with Kyrie, Varejao, Thompson, Waiters and McClemore (Who would be awesome with Lebron spotting up and getting out in transition) and win multiple championships and become indisputably the best player ever. Doesn’t make much sense.

  Game 7 of the NBA finals, it stayed close the entire game, and there were so many wild shots that went in, it was insane. If you consider the circumstances, and the way the game went about and how they came to get to game 7, yes I consider this the best game I’ve ever watched. ( Realize, I am not 50 fucking years old, I didn’t watch Magic and Jordan like some of you. Btw, Fandango can’t wrestle.)

This was a great game, yes. But it wasn’t even the best game of this series. Game 6 was one of the greatest basketball games I have ever watched.

Sure he’ll go down as one of the great players but to me that’s it. Who would have thought in 2013(!) Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobli, Tony Parker and a array of shooters would take Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Lebron James and an array of good shooters to seven games in a extremely competitive championship series? I would have laughed in your face if you told me that maybe 4 years ago, Duncan looked old then and Manu was already balding… The fact is James not wanting to own his own championship by beating his most established rival in Wade will always bother me… Until you play and beat every one of the people in the gym you can’t say you’re the best can you? I feel like Lebron missed his first chance to do that and no matter what I’ll always wonder if he could have done it..
This is just how I feel about it don’t be too harsh on me, what are everyone else’s thoughts?

  To be honest, you can make an argument that Scottie Pippen was the 2nd best perimeter player in the 90s. You could also make the argument that Pippen would have been Jordan’s biggest rival in the 90s.

    I completely agree Pippen would have been his biggest rival. Pippen is underrated and to be honest LeBron’s game resembles Pippen’s game more than any other player. If he wasn’t paired with Jordan his stats would look a lot like Lebron.

I think the Cleveland organization did it to themselves. They really didn’t bring in enough talent to get Lebron the help he needed to win. No players in the history of the NBA have won NBA championships without great teammates. I do not even think the GOAT MJ would have been able to win a title with Cleveland’s supporting cast.

Cleveland not winning had more to do with coaching. Mike Brown was not the right fit he didn’t utilize the talent that they did have very well. He was a good defensive coach but that team always looked lost and it wasn’t just because of the players. The roster wasn’t as bad as people like to make it seem, they just didn’t get it done.

Lebron didn’t “avoid trying to beat his most established rival in Wade” as you all say.
Although Wade was around a top 3 player in the league, his team I think hasn’t even made the second round since the championship they took.
No way did Lebron join wade so that he wouldn’t have to face him- cleveland was never scared of them.
I actually think if they really were rivals that were to meet like every Eastern Conference Finals, Lebron never woulda joined him. He’s a competitor and a man, no way in hell he joins “the guy that beats him up” as he once said of the Magic when they beat him.
