I know oriakhi is off a lot of peoples radar, but I think if he gets drafted he could be a serviceable big in the nba, similar to ben Wallace, which brings me to my comparison. he reminds me a lot of ben Wallace because he is an undersized center who is a great defender in my opinion. I don’t believe he will get much attention in the draft being undersized and being a 5th year senior, but I think he could end up being a good rotation player if not starting in a few years if he gets a chance to show off his defensive abilities for a team. thoughts everyone?

I’ve researched this guy pretty thoroughly and I think Kyle O’Quinn (which Aran has) or DJ White is accurate

Not nearly the athlete Big Ben was, more over he doesn’t have the foot speed or defensive instincts Ben had. I do agree he’s flying under the radar but I doubt he gets drafted. He can find a home through free agency and try to make a roster if he fits what they need but chances are he ends up in D-league or overseas. Chris Richard is who I would compare him to.

Wallace had 0% body fat,, a near 40 inch vert and amazing work ethic and a high motor…does that sound like Oriakhi?

I like him and I think he can find a spot in the league, but I agree with Gramps. I always thought a poor man’s Antonio Davis, but that’s pretty much Kyle O’Quinn, haha

Dude i dont think you’re appreciating Antonio Davis enough

      – 1x all-star
      – averaged 10 ppg, 7.5 rpg and 1 bpg over 13 seasons

Kyle O’Quinn barely played for the worst team in the NBA

Poor man’s. I don’t expect double/double seasons or All-Star births, but rugged PF/C combos who block and alter shots and rebound. The do a lot of the same things, are around the same size. I don’t think it’s out of reach for Alex to be a 10 year pro playing the same role as Davis, but on 2nd and 3rd units. I think O’Quinn can do the same thing.

He’s also not that talented. Very little shot at the league.

Anybody think he can be a Udonis Haslem for a team?

That’s not really his game, though. He’s more of a defensive presence and an interior, back-to-the-basket player than Haslem

He is not an NBA player IMO. At one point at thought he could be, but let’s face it; this guy barely improved during his 5 years in college. His offense consists of putbacks and wide open dunks and layups. He is an undersized center that will not be able to muscle around NBA players like he did in college. I don’t consider him a good enough rebounder or defender to be that valuable as a role player either.
