I have noticed Shabazz keeps dropping in the Mock Draft. I understand that he did not blow people away this year at UCLA like a lot of us thought he would. But, I have a hard time believing that there are 15 players that’s are better than him in this draft. The dude can score, yes I know about his pedestrian assist numbers… But when I see him scoring effortlessly I have to wonder why he isn’t even in the top 10? This is just my opinion
    Thanks
    Take care,
    Just kidding

People are putting too much emphasis on his college stats, specifically his assist numbers. I don’t think he should get all the blame for that. Their core players where all new to the system and didn’t have enough time to get used to it. Another year together would’ve done wonders for them.

His stock is down accross the board, but I still think he opens around 8 or 9. Detroit or Minne could use him, and with Dallas shopping 13 I look at Bazz a lot there too because he really is a lottery caliber player and he’d be a steal at #13 if someone wanted to trade up to get him.

I’ve been critical of Bazz this past college season, but it was more criticism of him being a top 3 or 5 pick. He’d be a steal if he slips to the late lottery or mid-teens. I think Boston would be a best case scenario for him, as a player, but I still think he’ll be off the board before they pick. I think he’s late lotto and his range is 8-14, but he doesn’t drop past Cleveland at #19.

I hope he goes 7th to sacramento, since they like all them shoot happy guards, =)

But, I think he goes 8 th 9th, 12 th, 13 th, on one of these picks im sure someone just can’t say noo to Bazz.

I just hope if my Pistons get him that they’ll trade down a little for him, like in that Pistons/Thunder trade idea I posted yesterday.

I don’t see how he slides past Minny. Bazz has shown a lot of skill and dedication to the game, and epitomizes everything that the Wolves need in their SG. He shot pretty well this year at 37% from three, and showed the desire to play defense during his workouts. I see him as this years Harrison Barnes; people will question him, but regret it later on. I also like Bazz going to Minny because they are competing to make the playoffs next year with Rubio and Love, and I think Bazz is one of the more “NBA ready” prospects that’s coming out. He could step in right away and fill a need.

Can he play SG? If he can great, but if not I can’t see the Wolves taking him.

why not? its not like the wolves have a ton of small forwards signed for next season on their roster. kirilenko has a player option that he may or may not excercise and derrick williams didnt really play well as small forward but more of a quick explosive power forward.

But, MN has no true SG (Shved is a PG), and they want to resign Chase. And AK’s main factor was if Adelman would be back which all indications are he will be. This year they should get a SG with the 9 and maybe worry about SF later in the draft or next year.

i also like him as a Detroit fit type player. reason why i say that is because i think the pistons have been gathering a nice solid core with Knight, Monroe and Drummond, and having a scoring option on the wings will complement those threes. as surprisingly good as singler’s rookie season was, i dont think he’ll be looked on to be one of the main scoring options of the team. he’s a nice shooter role player, but i would want someone who can create his offense and slash to the basket when monroe’s being defended well in the post and knight’s jumper isnt going in.

i also see Drummond into becoming a better offensive player than Ben Wallace, but will carry the role of defensive anchor. i dont think he’ll be looked at as one of the main creators of the offense for the pistons. having said that, a third main scorer will go a long ways for detroit. more so than another potential solid role player.

I have been a Bazz hater this entire year, but I still don’t think he falls out of the lottery. The guy is a selfish player and with more teams worried about culture he is going to fall. Remember when his teammate hit a GAME WINNING shot and how Shabazz didn’t even celebrate because he didn’t get to take the final shot? I said the very next day it will cause teams to pass on him because that is not the type of player a lot of teams want. Shabazz has talent, but he just isn’t a guy I want on my team.

I think that the top 6 is more or less a lock to be (in no particular order) Noel, Burke, Porter, McLemore, Oladipo, and Bennet. If that falls like I expect, then the Kings, Pistons, T’Wolves, Blazers, Sixers, and OKC all become suitors. I personally don’t think he will get past the top 8, but as a Sixers fan I pray errryday that he drops to 11.

I believe pistons wouldn’t pass on him, the possibility of another annual steal of the draft would be there

I think he will either get taken by Detroit or Portland. I really think there is NO WAY he falls out or the top10. These mocks that have him falling out of the lottery are insane.

People are down on him because he didn’t look like a team player. But can you blame him with the guy’s he had at UCLA? The bottom line, is that he hustles and loves to compete. He has heart and if his shot becomes consistent and he stays in shape he can be a real threat. I personally still like him.
