mike_r232ParticipantMost likely to be an All-Star? – This year or ever in their career? I would say Noel will make an all star team at some point.
Best Scorer? – CJ McCollum. Tough to not pick Erick Green, but CJ had way better percentages and only averaged 1.1 ppg less. Won’t average the most ppg in the league out of this class, but is a pure scorer.
Best Post Defender? – Jeff Withey. Noel is a close second. But Noel goes for the big play rather than good defense a lot of times.
Best Perimeter Defender? – Oladipo
Most Upside? – Alex Len. Again, tough to not go with Noel, but I think Len could come out as the player with the most upside.
Biggest Bust Potential? – Cody Zeller
Best Shooter? – CJ McCollum, see above
Most Athletic? – CJ Leslie. Beast.
Most Underrated? – Archie Goodwin/Myck Kabongo/Jeff Withey. Archie and Kabongo have a high ceiling. Withey will almost certainly be a solid backup C… a rarity in the league.
Best Passer? – No one sticks out for me. Probably Burke.
Best Leader? – Burke. Larkin can lead too.
Most ready to contribute? – Mason Plumlee. Very seasoned and ready to go. Not super productive, but can help right away.
Biggest steal of the Draft? – Could be Goodwin in a couple years if he goes to the right team. Dieng will also get drafted later than he should due to his age, but can play.
Personal Favorite Prospect? – Oladipo. Interested to see what he becomes in the league.0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/07/2013 - 6:55am #769870

jdmckibbinParticipantMost likely to be an All-Star? Ben McLemore, all-stars are basically picked offensively which is why I think him over Noel.
Best Scorer? Shabazz Muhammad, born to score the ball.
Best Post Defender? Jeff Withey, like being up against a tree.
Best Perimeter Defender?Victor Oladipo, not even close.
Most Upside? Victor Oladipo, if he can become a consistent scoring threat, combined with his defensive perseverance he can become an all-star type player.
Biggest Bust Potential? Michael Carter-Williams, not really sold on his passing ability.
Best Shooter? Trey Burke, people don’t realize how well he shoots, given that his shot selection is so difficult if you line them up in a gym he will be up there with he best of them. McLemore is a good pick too, though.
Most Athletic? Victor Oladipo, one of the most athletic people I’ve seen in the college ranks in a few years.
Most Underrated? Otto Porter Jr., his all around game is so impressive, he is the most complete player in this draft IMO.
Best Passer? Trey Burke, dime after dime all while facing opposing team’s top defender and getting doubled.
Best Leader? Trey Burke, whether he makes as an all-star or not, he will be a great leader by example.
Most ready to contribute? Otto Porter Jr., throw him on any team and he will produce.
Biggest steal of the Draft? Deshaun Thomas, future 6th man of the year right there, NBA ready offensive game.

Memphis MadnessParticipantThere are a lot of question marks here, but this draft could be pretty solid.
Most likely to be an All-Star? Nerlens Noel — should be easier to make the game as a center.
Best Scorer? — Shabazz Muhammed. He can score, but will be efficient?
Best Post Defender? Jeff Withey
Best Perimeter Defender? Victor Oladipo
Most Upside? Alex Len — a 7 footer with size and offensive weaponry. You could build a contender around those attributes.
Biggest Bust Potential? Ben McLemore. Will he be a legit star 2 guard with an all-around game or just a spot up chucker?
Best Shooter? Seth Curry
Most Athletic? DJ Stephens
Most Underrated? Jeff Withey. He can be an elite shot blocker and a at-the-rim finisher. Upside of Serge Ibaka meets Tyson Chandler (with some passing)
Best Passer? Michael Carter-Williams
Best Leader? Peyton Siva. Not even on most mocks. Destroyed Michigan in the title game.
Most ready to contribute? Trey Burke. Speed, solid size for a point guard, and scoring moxie. You can plug him in and he will resemble an average to above average point guard most nights, right out of the gate.
Biggest steal of the Draft? For late first, early second round guys: Jeff Withey and Gorgui Dieng. Shot blocking, size, and post defense are still important. Gotta look at Seth Curry too. Three pointers still count for three points.
Personal Favorite Prospect? Lotto: Victor Oladipo. Late first: Jeff Withey. Late second round/undrafted: Peyton Siva and DJ Stephens. Siva and Stephens belong on a summer league team out in Las Vegas.Other than that, Anthony Bennett is someone I am intrigued by, but I haven’t watched him and I don’t follow him much. He isn’t a 6’10 power forward but he is long and does have talent. He might be the biggest wild card in this draft. He is probably a guy with one of the higher ceilings in this draft. His floor might be a bit lower than some other guys due to his being a bit of a tweener.
I am not really sold on Otto Porter. Is he a tallish, do-it-all Magic Johnson type or an Evan Turner? Not sure his athleticism is elite nor his strength. His shot might not be there either. Could end up being closer to a rotation wing than a franchise guy.
It might really depend on where he goes. He could thrive as a complementary guy on a team with a ton of size and a bunch of scoring and passing.Victor Oladipo looks fairly raw, but he has a decent floor as a high motor guy with some athleticism and defensive versatility. If he turns into a rich man’s Tony Allen then he could be the fourth guy on a title team. I don’t see him being a primary scoring weapon though. Now, if he had D Wade’s handles then you might be able to make a case. But, his handle isn’t there yet so he won’t be able to get to the basket at will.
I think the guy, ironically, with the best risk/reward ratio is Nerlens Noel. Assuming he gets back from his injury at 100% then he is a guy with size, length, and athleticism. He has a good motor and looks fluid (unlike a guy like Greg Oden or even Anthony Davis who still looks a bit awkward to me). His highlight films show some good passing skills for a big man, and he did get a good number of steals in college. His jump shot is broke and his free throw line mechanics borrow money from his jump shot. BUT, there are a lot of things there, which all add up to a high floor. He can play either the 4 or 5 which is nice. His baseline as a poor man’s Alonzo Mourning compares favorably to Anthony Davis’s baseline as a healthy Pervis Ellison. Noel’s upside is a guy who can be a multi-year all-star, a block shots king in fantasy basketball, and a perennial contender for the DPOY award.

bobforteParticipantI am also intrigued by Bennett I think I would rather take a chance on him then porter. Im not high on Porter though he is neither magic or evan turner. He is a lot like T. Prince but I think only the cavs and kings are a great fit for him. Any other team i don’t like the pick and I think his career if not one of these teams could be like wes johnson. The other two guys i am intrigued by are oladipo like you said but i think he will be one of the better prospects from this draft. I watch him and i think he will be a stud but only time will tell and the other prospect is Giannis who if he can develop could be a steal as well, although he is a couple years away.
