IknoBall12ParticipantIdk if its just me but when I watch them play their movements and style seem somewhat similar to me. I mean Harrison is a much better shooter from 3 but they both are around the same size and can put on some highlight reel dunks when they feel like it. They both have pretty below average handles for their position and al attacks a lot harder and shoots the mid range well. Anyway thoughts?

Da1potParticipantMaybe from a physical standpoint but other than that, they play nothing alike. Al Thornton is an NBA-level player who played himself out of the league with his selfish demeanor and poor shot selection. You wouldn’t think that a guy who scored 38 points in a game during his rookie year and averaged 16 ppg during his second year would be out of the league so quickly.

SiggyParticipantNo. Thornton never met a shot that he didn’t turn down. Barnes doesn’t shoot enough. Thornton was dumb as hell and couldn’t defend a folding chair. Barnes is a solid man defender.

CynthiaParticipantNot at all actually.
Barnes is more of a jump shooter, Thornton is a brick shooter. Barnes is a straight up SF, Thornton is more of a SF/PF. About only thing Thornton has over Barnes is maybe a bit more athletic, and that’s a big maybe.
I don’t really get your comparison, Barnes will have a serviceable career in the NBA, Thornton is already out of the NBA. About all there is to it.

Mr. HookShotParticipantAnyone seeing Barnes to expand his game becoming more than just a complementary piece on the Warriors?
