They will trade out of that spot before moving Thabeet out of position. Someone will pay dearly to move up. Grizzlies would be better off taking trade than playing Thabeet out of position.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Thabeet and Gasol are both 5’s. I’m sick and fucking tired of these Thabeet to Memphis scenarios. We will either end up with Ricky Rubio, Jordan Hill, or Tyreke Evans. The 2-4 Swap is going to happen.

That is just what you want to happen. You have no idea who they are going to pick. Thabeet is very much in the running to be picked by Memphis. Memphis management is unpredictable man.

They are borderline bankrupt and rubio’s signabililty and the big buyout leave him as the biggest red flag in the dreft to me.no one else is worth top 3 money when you have Mayo (no Harden) and Gasol (no Thabeet.Rubio would ) Why not save some money on a european rookie and take the same chance on a street kid like Brandon Jennings to excite an urban fanbase desprete for some youth and energy.Make way more sense for the Knicks too.Lee is Gone if they dont pull the trigger on something.Memphis gets a starter and prospect same as Ny.And all players and GM’s love the other guys stars. Rubio and Gay with Knicks are a solid young backcourt and with Chandler,Harrington and Gallo running and gunning they could lure a mega free agent in 2010.Memphis gets a tough nose pf that will avg 15 and 12 easily. He and Gasol would be a double double front court that could rebound and defend with any other team in the league. And the opportunity to put Jennings and Mayo in a Backcourt together would be a dream for basket ball fans everywhere. If they get Jennings and Lee Memphis would be one Small Forward away from contending in 2010 or 2011(Melo,Lebron or other)They’ll be young and affordable(until Mayo becomes Fa) Same for Ny who would have building blocks Like Rubio,Gallo,Gay and Chandler to put a all star pf and c to make a contender in the east.(Curry,Harrington and the other bad contracts will be gone so maybe a star 2g if you let Gay go at some point and C would be best(Kobe and Howard ironicly)

If your going to classify Gasol as your Franchise Center why Draft Thabeet? I understand they are very unpredictable, but trading down between 2-4 makes a lot of sense. Even if the Thunder take Harden that still gives you the option of choice in Thabeet, Hill and Evans.

Yes but the 2nd to last trade they made involved Kwame Brown and Pao Gasol. So even if it makes sense, it’s not a sure thing.

Future First round picks for a guy who ovbiousbly wanted out of Memphis. I don’t think the trade came out as bad to us as you think.

We pretty much got Darrell Arthur, Marc Gasol, a Conditional first round draft pick and some much needed cap relief. Although the trade put the lakers on top it gave us what we needed. Some money and young talent to build around.

If we can get a 2-4 or 2-8 swap with Thompson or David lee I think we jump all over it. Taking Thabeet just doesn’t make any sense.

I think us drafting rubio is at 90-10. Us keeping him and not trading him is a whole other story.

Hasheem is almost in the big 5 category, not the small 5 like D.Howard, Gasol is slow and cant guard a 4 (he cant even guard some centers) both on the same team could only be possible if you want to have a big center of the bench. (unlikely to waste a high lotto on a bench player) so they would definitely trade.
