Tyreke Evans May Never Be A superstar type of player, but he has the talent and great skill level that will allow him to easily develop into a perenial allstar. If he is put in the right situation that will allow him to be very successful. I would actually love to see tyreke play point guard next to oj mayo in dallas. I think they would be able to develop into one the best backcourts in the NBA. Also Rick Carlisle does a great job of coaching and developing young players

Don’t count him out. Its harder than people think to be a superstar. But you know what, he’s got enough talent to put in work at a great level. Winning is the cure all, and he’s never had a half way decent coach to tell him right from wrong. How do I know? Him and Cousins make the same mistakes they’ve been making their rookie year. Its all coaching.

Evans will be a solid player one day, it might not be on sac/seattle, but he will end up somewhere and thrive.

In my opinion tyreke posesses an extremely dynamic and great skill level that just cannot be ignored. At times he has the ability to do whatever he want’s to do on the basketball court. And only a fool would ignore the great potential that tyreke posesses. The environmet he plays in is terrible and to some degree is stunting his growth into a great player. Tyreke just needs to be part of a great basketball environment that will give him the greatest opportunity to be successful.

      The young man got skills!!!!!!
It’s not like tyreke is a bum. His rookie year when he averaged 20 points and 5 assist per game while playing the point guard position, was a great example of what kind of player tyeke can be. Sacremento just doesn’t have a clue with how to utilize or develop the great talent that tyreke posesses

Look, the truth is that tyreke won’t be the first or last player who will need to play for a new team inorder to improve his success rate in the NBA
      For example:
      1. Tracy mcgrady was very inconsistent his first 3 years in the league while playing for toronto. Then once he was traded to orlando which was a better situation for him, he ended up naturally developing into a better player

      2. Jalen Rose spent his first 3 years playing inconsistent basketball for the denver nuggets before finally developing into a very good player for the indiana pacers and chigago bulls

      3. Steve nash could not get off the bench his first 3 years in the league before finally developing into a great player for the dallas mavericks and phoenix suns

      4. Chauncey billups was traded four times in his first 4 years in the league before finally developing into a great player for the detroit pistons

Some guys just need time, development, and the right opportunity before they can finally reach their full potential and develop into great players

One thing all those guys have in common. They can all shoot the ball. Tyeke has a broken shot, and he does it on purpose by fading away every single time.

Tyreke jumpshot is not that bad. This year he has a 47% Field Goal Percentage, a 35% 3Point Percentage, And A 77% Free Throw Percentage. Which are all pretty decent shooting numbers for a combo guard. And I actually like the slight fade in his jumpshot because it adds to his ability to create space when he’s shooting jumpers against tough defenders. He just needs to learn how to shoot fadeaway jumpers when needed in the right situation

extremely ignorant and incomplete statement. handles like that definitely translate. you cant be out there hotdogging like in some pickup game but that is definitely a major part of his skillset. Its about the application of that skillset and the environment to which it is applied. Do they translate for Jamal Crawford? Their handle defines who they are but not necessarily the sum of all parts.

How are those stats deceiving? They’re pretty cut and dry. Either a player is a good shooter or he isn’t a good shooter. Tyreke shoots poor %’s away from the rim to the tune of 31% when he ain’t shooting layups.
How do you excuse that? You can call him a beast or talk about skills all you want, but in this instance I’m telling you that he still can’t shoot and the results bear that out.

And you can save that hater talk for someone else too. That talk is nothing but a cop out. The term “hater” in its original form meant someone who doesn’t like someone or something for no good reason. Since we’re talking about b-ball players you either appreciate his ability or don’t think he’s anything special. I’m in the latter category and I’ve stated plenty of reasons why I think that.

You have nothing good to say about tyreke. Everybody has strengths and weaknesses. All you worry about is what tyreke can’t do. But what about what he can do. He’s a talented ball handler who has great scoring instincs. He’s dynamic in the open court. And everybody knows he’s one of the best finishers around the rim in the NBA. He was given the nickname ” the king of layups ” And he has the vision and passing instincs that allows him to create offensive opportunities for others at a very high level. Siggy your just a hater and I’m through talking to you about tyreke. We can just agree to disagree. bye bye sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite

A talented ball-handler who’s shaded to his left hand because it’s the far weaker hand. The scouting report has been the same on Tyreke for a while now. play off of him and force him left.

Here’s another interesting stat for one of the best finishers in the league. He finishes at the rim below the league average % for a wing.
League average at the rim for wings: 66%
Tyreke’s finishing at the rim: 63.6%

Not me . Tyreke’s not my favorite player. But I can easily humble myself and realise that tyreke has the potential to be allstar if he’s part of the right situation that gives him the opportunity to be very successful

And none of them dominated the ball like Tyreke does. Is Tyreke talented? Yes, but he needs to learn to be able to score and move without the ball and he needs to improve his jumpshot and stop taking terrible fadeaways.

I was hoping Harden would have made it to FA, but Reke would be plan B. I like him next to Teague, as Teague is a terrific 3 point shooter and can play off the ball. I believe in Reke’s potential, in another situation, but of course you have to fear giving him the big bucks. Then- without a huge contract, I see Sacramento matching any offers just to keep him as traid bait.

If you think that tyreke is a bum than you must have a level of basketball related understanding that can’t determine how good or bad a player really is. Or you must be as high as kakashi looks in your pick ( I wan’t to give a shout out to all of the naruto fans on this website ).

Anyways, there are four types of players in the NBA

      Type 4- good players
Type 3 – very good players
      Typer 2 – All Stars
      Type 1- Superstars

In my opinion tyreke is a very good player who has the potential to be an allstar

Numbers don’t lie, and it’s not like we’re talking about a guy who has sacrificed individual stats for team greatness…. the Kings are awful every year. Ppg have gone from 20.1 to 17.8 to 16.5 to 14.9 from 2010 to 2013, with a corresponding decrease in shots near the rim. Assists– 5.7 to 5.6 to 4.5 to a pathetic 3.2. These are the stats of of a guy who’s about to take off, and his team situation isn’t better.

I completely agree with you, tyreke’s numbers dont lie. but why not say all his numbers, the bad and the good. from 2010 to 2013, his shot attempts has decresed every year from 16.4 to 14.3 to 11.7. his FG% has risen from 40.9 to 45.3 to 47.5. his three point shooting which was bad, got worse, but improved to his current career high. 29.1 to 20.2 to 34.0 i think he’s acknowledged this limitation of his since he has toned down his attempts from deep from 2.6 to 1.6 to 1.4. if anything, its his free throw shot that has dipped and at a career low a shade below 75%, his assists are a career low but his turnovers are at a career best. and lets not forget he is playing a career low of minutes this season at just being below 32 MPG

all these numbers tell us that tyreke may not have developed as what his followers hoped he would, but he has made improvements to his game as far as sharing the touches go. he still has a long ways to go, but i do recognize his current flaws and improvements. would a different situation be more favorable for him, i believe so. where theres a structured offense and one that will allow him more space on the floor. i really hope where ever he goes, he ends up signing with a team that has an establish coach who can mentor him.

honestly, being a 1 and done point guard then playing for a different coach every season you’ve been in the league can not be good for developing a young talented guard. just look at the difference between tyere’s situation with that of mike conley. conley has had the same coach the past 4 seasons which allowed him to run and be comfortable in a system that you know is stable. evans has never had that, which stands true till now.

Only fools count out a player who has only failed while playing for one team. Especially when its a bad team. Remember when Randy Moss went to the Patriots? He had twice as many receptions and touchdowns in one year than he did in 2 with Oakland….in which most thought he was finished.
Not saying he will ever be really good, just saying…evidence isnt there to support it one way or the other just based on playing with an absolute horrible team who doesnt know how to draft.

That’s a horrible example. Randy Moss was already known as an elite player by the time he went to Oakland and when he got there he flat-out quit. Tyreke Evans has never proven he’s an elite player. He hasn’t gotten any better since his rookie season. Do I think a change of scenery would do him some good? Absolutely, but let’s quit pretending that he’s a star being held back by his team.

we all know evans is very talented and hes a good player…. personally… I thought at the time he was a rookie.. he would be an all star by now….. his jumper still blows…(who the hell slings the ball from behind their head and fades away) and isn’t effective w/o the ball…hasn’t improved at all… theres other factors like his teammates who also like to shoot and the culture in sacramento… at this point… I don’t see him becoming an all star player…which is sad cuz he had one of the best rookie yrs ever…evans reminds of james harden if harden had no jumper
