mikeyvthedonParticipanthttp://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursnation/2012/11/29/spurs-will-face-heat-without-big-three-green/
Gregg Popovich decided to send Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green back home early as they will not be in the line-up tonight. The Spurs have played 10 out of 16 on the road with this game marking the end of a 6 game Eastern Conference road swing. Though they won their first 5, Pop sights that they are flat out tired and would like to rest them for a big home match-up against Memphis on Saturday.
So, the "Finals Preview" that ESPN was currently hyping on their main page will in actuality, not be much of one in the least. Has to hurt tonights TV ratings, but Pop has every right to do what he feels is best for his team. Adjust your fantasy line-ups accordingly, just know that these 4 Spurs are apparently back in San Antonio and tonights game has all the makings of a blow out if the Heat come to play.

Wavy BagelsParticipantI had the Spurs losing tonight anyway, but it’s a good thing Pop is resting the Big 3, including Tim. He’s been carrying a heavy load while exceeding his 30 minutes a game limit. We’ll have another chance at the Heat later on this season.

Toronto16ParticipantLol I love Pop. He could care less about the marketing of big games.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantI always wondered why teams don’t do this more. It takes a shot at the schedule makers and why play a great team and rest guys against a bad team. Lets say they don’t rest against the Heat and Grizzlies and split the games, then drop one to the Bucks(not the case here because there is a couple days off before Bucks, but still). I say, if you going to rest then do it in a probable lose.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThe Heat are catching a break… No Timmy, Parker and Manu tonight. No Brook Lopez on Sat.
As a fan, I hate this. However, I can understand.

llperezprobably a bit of an F U to the schedule makers for putting them on the road so much. Like you want to run us through the gauntlet, all right there goes your ratings.

ProudGrandpaParticipantStern promises “substantial sanctions” for Popovich’s choice to keep these guys at home…I don’t know how I feel about that.
But Matt Bonner’s putting the Spurs on his back right now lol. #Culthero

HotSnotParticipantForget the “fans”, Stern is really appologizing to the demographic who actually supports the NBA and other pro franchises… degenerate gamblers.

aamir543ParticipantMy god Barkley is hilarious as a broadcaster, but about the Spurs, who is David Stern or Stu Jackson to tell Pop who he wants to start and sit. He’s running his own team the way he wants to, and he shouldn’t give a shiit about what the league wants. You don’t win 4 championships if you don’t know what you’re doing. Remember, this is the Spurs’ 4th game in 5 nights, all on the road, while the Heat have played one game in the past week, and that too at home versus the Cavs. This is Stern’s way to say “FU” to the league. The league is way out of line with this, Pop has every right to do whatever the hell he wants. This is all about money, they’re just mad that he did this on a primetime game against the Heat. This is absolutely outrageous.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantI think it’s stupid David stern is goin to put sanctions on the spurs. Seriously???? It’s part of pops coaching strategy David stop being a fat pig and worrying about the marketing aspect of this game

llperezgary neal half ass double teams lebron when he is bottled up with his back to the basket and leaves ray allen all alone? Lebron is one of the most willing passing superstars in the league, you dont just loose ray allen and ball watch on anyplay let alone that one.

r377ParticipantMIAMI (AP) — The San Antonio Spurs will be punished by the NBA for their decision to send four top players home and not make them available to play in Miami against the Heat on Thursday night.

Fu(k you Stern, Popovich is one of the most respected men in the entire league. His players are not puppets, just there for our entertainment. There is 82 games in a season, plus playoffs. Tim Duncan has played in over 1300 NBA games !!! Give em a break…..
