Tony Wroten, Josh Selby, & James White will be in action today!

I can’t wait to see how Wroten does in his debut along with Selby, who’s been a ghost of recent memory smh

Doc Rivers’ older son is also playing so I’ll be keeping an eye out for him as well.

Wroten looks a lot more comfortable @ the line, nice fluid release.

Wroten has been very good since he has entered the game. He is attacking the basket, making his free throws, an has made a couple of nice passes.

Love his game. If he ever gets his shot going look out. Free throws look good.

Selby is looking good as well, he’s not forcing the action just playing through the flow of the game. Shoot looks much improved as well.

Selby has to work his a$$ to stay on this team…With guards Wroten,Bayless and the possibility of adding Webster or Ellington and Pargo playing on the 2nd year of a guaranteed deal..Selby has too really be impressive or else he could be released..But the good thing is if they have to decide between him and Pargo, the team likes him more..

Selby is on. Wroten looks good. Matt Janning looks ok.
We shouldn’t trade Dante Cunningham. Keep him, play our young guards
and sign Matt Janning as our shooter. He would give us 14 players for next year.
Then move Pargo for a future second round pick and add an extra big man (center)
towards the end of the year.

Wroten’s passing looked good. He should be great with Bayless off the bench. Hopefully
Selby gets some minutes too. We should be looking good out West.

Memphis’ summer league team is vastly superior.

Memphis has their 2nd and 3rd string point guards from last season, a sharp shooter who lit up the Summer League in 2010 and a 6’6” guard who was drafted in the first round as their backcourt.

New York has Walker Russell Jr., Chris Copeland and Doc Rivers’ other son as their back court.

I don’t see this game getting any closer.

Parahouski looks solid, though, he’s a real capable scorer for a big guy and had some nice games against some bigger D1 schools a couple years ago.  He’d be a nice 3rd big for them to add.

Both Wroten and Selby have played very good for the Grizz. Pargo looks like he could be the odd man out.

The Knicks SL team is just horrible. No movement, and a great deal of silly mistakes. Copeland looks like a dirty work guy at best, and parahouski looks like he could make a roster as a third big, but nobody else looks like they belong in the league.

I’m lovng his activity out there, he’s finding his teammates and making the right play. Still very athletic and has some playmaking ability, good pick up for the Knicks.

      Also…

Tony Wroten is doing very well (19 Pts. 8 Rebs. 6 Asts.) he does have 4 TO’s but hey, what can you do? lol

Josh selby looked very good. Showed off a nice blend of athleticism and shooting ability. He and Wroten played well in tandem. I was not impressed  with James White at all. Maybe he can carve out a niche as a defensive stopper/situational player but I suspect his future remains overseas

Lol@ Wiz. Sometimes the talent skips one brother and goes to the other or isn’t passed on to the son. No matter how hard you work you just can’t duplicate someone who is just as talented that works as hard or almost as hard, if that wasn’t the case all these guys brothers would be as good and Jordan’s sons would have been one and done.

So far it seems the Lakers and Knicks may be the two teams fighting to see who pulls a Indy Colts

James white played very well to the trained eye. To the untrained eye he may not look as well because they look at points. He did exactly what he will need to do in the regular season which is play without a lot of mistakes, play defense, be versatile, make plays for others since the Knicks have scorers.  The Knicks know he has the ability to score some so no need for him to be a scorer in summer league but instead work in the same role as he will in the regular season.

Some of these players that are scoring aren’t really showing much unless it’s kick out open shot scoring since that won’t be their role in the regular season. The Memphis guards look much better if they show great defense, take care of the ball, get a good amount of assists and make the game easier for others. This is why you see some players put up good stats and not make a team and wonder "why did he get cut but the other guy who put up worst stats get picked". That’s because the other guy did the things the team will need or played the role he would play in the regular season. Scoring is nice but just like in NBA2k 12 my player (lol) it’s not as important at this stage than getting a lot of rebounds or assists or blocks or great defense

Selby and Wroten looked beastly out there, no lie.  Wroten is gonna be a mis-match nightmare in the NBA.  he’s 6’6” and plays the point like a true point guard should.  Looks to pass first, and my god the kid can pass!! Selby looked great as well.  He’ll be a very nice scorer to bring off the bench this season, no way he doesn’t make the roster.  I’m pissed Memphis signed Bayless though because I think Selby could do that same job right now for a much cheaper price.  I really hope Wroten wins the backup point guard job, because he will most certainly put up good all around numbers next year if given the minutes

I’m not impressed with Wroten and Selby. They ran the team nothing like an NBA point guard would. They barely could lead the Grizzlies past a Knicks team with only one borderline NBA player. The Grizzlies also had better big men, but the Knicks brought it to single digits late. Matt Janning’s timely shooting really knocked the Knicks out of it. But, besides that, neither of these guys will see any time off the bench with maybe the exception of Pargo.

Agree but for different reasons.  Doesn’t matter if you can lead a team to wins out here because wins aren’t important. I do care about guys at e of not looking to make others better. I like how Wroten played more than Shelby because he looked to mke the pass as well as score. I’d like to see Shelby look to run a team and make others better.

Now if his role is to come off the bench and score than his showing was better than I’ve given him credit for

Selby will be great next to Bayless. With Selby looking good too I don’t think we need another guard. I think Matt Janning can be our shooter as a 12th man. I really don’t want to trade Cunningham. He’s a versatile player who hustles and has a great motor. If we can’t move Pargo I would add Janning as our 14th guy and then
pick up an extra center closer to the all-star game.

I just like the idea of having Speights, Darrell Arthur, and Dante Cunningham as our 3 bigs off the bench. Then we can add a cheap veteran center for the stretch run.

If we trade Cunningham for Ellington we will only have one healthy big man off the bench (DA is working his way back
from injury), no true backup center, and we will lose a guy that can play as a big 3 behind Gay.
