truwizfan4ParticipantHow does everyone like Beal teaming up with John Wall and do you think They have the potential to be one of the best back courts we have in the nba? And can you see wizards improving at all maybe even sneak into a playoff off spot as well?

IndianaBasketballParticipantBeal hasn’t played a pro game yet, so it’s hard to say.
I think they’ll fit together very well though. Beal will be a guy who stretches the floor and can also put it on the floor when defenders close out. That’s the kind of backcourt partner that Wall needs. I don’t think Beal is great at creating his own offense off of the dribble yet, so Wall will help create easy opportunities for him. And Beal is a mature kid like Wall, so I think they’ll have a great relationship on and off the floor.
On paper, they look like they could make the playoffs. Good mix of vets and young players now.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI’m with Indiana.
On paper, they look like a team that can make the playoffs, especially in the east.
Honestly, they should compliment eachother very well. Their playstyles go great together, think Rondo and Ray Allen, not in terms of comparison but how perfectly they fit together. One is the play-maker and the other is the play-finisher. Honestly, I don’t think Washington could have had a better fit (except for Anthony Davis).

HotSnotParticipantThis season is going to be really telling for Mr. Wall.
Chris Paul led Okafor and Ariza to the playoffs and had a war with the Lakers. I know Wall has made it a goal to make the AllStar team… well now’s his chance to show what he’s got. Beal and Nene are upgrades over what Paul had to work with and Washington has a much better bench and improved team character.
If Wall can’t make the playoffs next season, preferably 2nd round with this roster… He’s overrated!

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantThis team has a respectable starting lineup with wall,Beal, ariza, okafor, and nene and their bench with Jo. Crawford, vesely, singleton, James singleton, blatche(maybe) and Kevin seraphin they will be a greatly improved team and might sneak into being an 8th seed

ReactionParticipantIf their team stays healthy and plays as well as I think they should they have a decent chance. A lineup of
John Wall
Beal
Ariza
Nene
Okafor
is quite intimidating IF they stay healthy and learn to play well together. It is a huge if because Wall and Okafor tend to get injured quite often(partial for Wall because of his playing style of continuously driving and attacking) It actually is very dependent on how NBA ready Beal is as he will be the primary scorer on the team since J Wall doesn’t have that great of a jumper(but is amazing at getting in the lane with his insane speed). I think the Wizards progress will be very dependent on the new rookie. 🙂

lilballa141ParticipantI like Beal teaming up with wall.. but you know what i wouldve like more? him teaming up with Kyrie…that backcourt could’ve been downright deadly and is more of a mesh than with wall… man what could’ve been…..I can see them fighting for the 7th or 8th seed but won’t at all be surprised if they don’t make it with MIA, CHI, BOS, NY, IND, PHI, ATL, ORL, MIL, there… as a matter of fact.. now that i made a list.. I don’t see them making the playoffs just yet this year

scoutguruParticipantI disagree. I don’t think that starting lineup is intimadating at all. No one really scares you besides Wall, and thus far in his career it’s been proven if you can contain that initial fast break where he can push it and score or find teammates, he’s very unformfortable and not that efficient in the half court. Beal is a rookie, so its hard to expect much. Ariza, while solid, doesn’t scare me. Nene, solid rebounder, finisher, shot blocker defender but he proved that he can’t score consistently on the block on a go to basis and his injury prone nature, which I think why Denver just got tired of him and hence traded him. Okafor, we all know what he is…
So basically Wall could have the best year of his career and I could see them still not making the playoffs. That roster should be in the playoff mix, but to say second round or bust and Wall being overrated if they don’t make it is completely unfair. That being said, I do want to see a good chunk of growth in Wall’s game. Being the franchise player, no 1 pick, etc, you would like to see him play better in the half court, improve his jumper, be a better leader as a point guard, show improved body language and become a top 5-7 level point guard. All attainable for a guy with his skills. If not, I see Kyrie Irving surpassing him and jumping into or near that list.
