McDunkinIt looks like Jared Sullinger isn’t the only big time NBA draft prospect to have medical issues hurt his stock.
Multiple league sources say that NBA team doctors are concerned about a meniscus issue in Baylor forward Perry Jones III‘s knee.
While opinions vary among NBA doctors on the ramifications of the issue, some teams feel that the knee could be an issue down the road and at some point in the future require surgery. Not all teams have the same degree of alarm, but the concerns have caused Jones’ stock to slide from the mid-to-late lottery portion of the draft down into the late teens and early 20s of the round.
Jones’ agent, Bill Duffy, declined comment.

Jason_GrayParticipantThis guy can’t catch a break. This may in some disguised way be a good thing for him. This will lower his expectations tremendously. At this point even being a solid player like a Dejuan Blair will be a bonus for any team that he ends up on. Maybe all this will light a fire under his ass…

Mr. ChicagoParticipantI am not saying this is possible, but I would love to have him slip to the Bulls. That is an immense amount of talent, and the expectations would be next to nothing with a late late first round pick. They would be able to let him come off the bench and control his minutes significantly. One can hope right?

theballerwayParticipantBy some team probs Boston –
How is this just coming out now the day of the draft. The same NBA doctors had a conclusion on Sullys back weeks ago, but couldnt find anything wrong with his knee until today?

Nico4nicolasParticipantI guess there is one team in the 20′ which expects to draft him but for that, they need to lower his value, send a rumor about bad knees and the trick is done. Anyway, I agree to say that’s BS, even if he needs suggery, he would be side lined for 6 months, if he really has talent, he will still have 10-15 years of great basketball behind. All GMs know that and it should stop them from drafting a talented 20-year old player.

sheltwon3ParticipantWhen you have this much talent collectively in the draft, this is the kinds of stuff that happens.

r377ParticipantI had him at 23 to the hawks before this. With bad knees and no heart he might even slip late first or early second….

WolfRobParticipantStill, I don’t think there is anyway he slips out of the first.

Meditated StatesParticipantTeams in the 20’s are hoping he slips.

Toronto16ParticipantOh Lord, first officials dictate NBA games, now doctors are dictating the NBA draft. When will it end???

sheltwon3ParticipantIt is obvious some teams wants him to fall and is sending out smoke screens. I think his fall a while ago may have been about his knee to some degree but it was probably nothing serious enough to put out there but some team is leaking this so that he falls to them

GoJOSH HUESTISParticipantThey said every year many draft picks are red flagged but the ones that a team may want who picks late tends to leak the info so they can get the player. This is actually a good thing for Perry because the later he is picked the less the expectations become.

PulseGlazerParticipantI see Houston going there. This is a team looking for talented trade chips. Teague, PJ3 and Leonard seem to be the big talents around when Hou picks.

UNCbasketballbumParticipantPJ3’s stock couldn;t be any lower right now. He’s the one guy I expect to plummet tonight. Second round perhaps?
