bad boysParticipantThey had a decent 3 guard rotating with knight, stucky, gordon. Know the have nobody who can score to come off the bench at the sg postion. I know joe said they were going to take a big man and they only worked out big guys but do you think this trade could have changed some thinging if they were not im pressed with the workouts on monday. I dont know what to think with joe d anymore

JosephclunieParticipantIf I were a pistons fan I would not want to reach for Meyers or Zeller or Henson. Take the best player available or host trade offers. Plus if cavaliers and bobcats trade then Houston does deal with 2 top 10 teams then could get interesting. I see Davis at1. Beal at 2. Barnes at 3. MKG at 4. Drummond at 5. Lillard at 6. Someone is gonna push for 7 to land T-Rob otherwise I see Waiters to golden state. Toronto is prolly eyeing combo guard in Rivers meaning if no one deals up to 7 then T-rob could go #9 to Detroit. Then hornets would take either Ross or Leonard. 11 would be the opposite left from 10. 12 is Zeller. Lamb at 13. Assuming 14 now belongs to sac they can grab a long 4 in Moultrie or Henson or I say take the bigger potential of one of Jones’ boys

mosdefParticipantthey are still taking a big man.
prospects from 7-12 are pretty much interchangeable without alot of shouting if a guy ranked 12 goes at 8 or 9.

Sharp ShooterParticipantI’m understand the pistons traded ben gordon because he has more trade value then Charlie Villanueva…i think that the pistons will (and should) amnesty CV which ultimately gives them alot of flexibility in the Free agency, probably to get a SF. As for the draft, i think pistons would try to land drummond…Only thing i didn’t get is why did they throw a protected #1 pick in…Either way, i like wat the pistons are doing thus far.

laarethekingsParticipantThe number one pick was for Gordon’s extra year and 14 million. Det looking at 20 million in cap space next off season.

and1rodman91ParticipantSo im guessing its safe to say.. The Gordon-Detriot relationship was nothing short from a Fail.

r377ParticipantI think there is a chance they take Lamb if he is available. Remember Joe D was a SG himself.
championship teams
isiah / joe / microwave
rip / chauncey
why wouldn’t they want knight / lamb / stuckey.
Lamb has much more potential, he could very well be the 2nd, 3rd or 4th best player taken from this draft…

ppp38ParticipantDumars has tried
Stuckey/Rip/Iverson and Stuckey/Rip/Gordon and Knight/Stuckey/Gordon. None of the 3 guard rotations have worked. If Joe D tries it again, he will have learned nothing and next season there will be a thread about how he’s just traded Rodney Stuckey.
Detroit has Knight/Stuckey, they need to go with a bigman.

inbedwithyomamaParticipantI still think they go for a shotblocking big man on Thursday. The Pistons were the worst shotblocking team in the L for the last 3 years running. Just makes sense to me.

PulseGlazerParticipantDetroit will take a big. Whether that’s Henson or Leonard remains to be seen.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI hope the rumors of them selecting Henson is just a rumor….Pistons fans deserve more than what Dumars have put on the floor the past 4 years..He made some good picks getting Monroe and Knight…I hope he goes for Perry Jones or Lamb, instead of Henson..

HadzialijagicParticipantIm not really sure who we should draft now because with Gordon gone and Villanueva hopefully amnestied we should have a lot of cap space and our team will look a lot different.

rwd5035ParticipantI think it could change their outlook. They still need a big, but they also need a shooter who can spread the floor for them. I think Jeremy Lamb would be a good piece, and fit for this current Pistons roster.

HitsterParticipantDetroit have still not used their amnesty and with the draft pick they have protected it well for next year. If we assume that their young core will move the team forward then by 2014 we would assume the pick will go to Charlotte.
Detroit have saved salary and cleared a logjam at SG, I’d assume they maybe look to buy Margette out or at worse have a nice expiring deal. Their draft focus for this year will not change I’d guess as they look for a long term frontcourt partner for Greg Monroe.
The Bobcats have taken on more salary but get a proven scorer in Gordon which should help them improve and he could be one of their main offensive tools next season either at starting SG or from the bench. They also get a decent first round pick which compensates for the pick they have to send to the Bulls, so their team has sone a decent deal.
