niQParticipantSLAMonline just posted a story that the Cavs are willing to trade their #4th, 24th and 34th pick for the number 2 pick.
They are going HAM for Bradley Beal after the WAS/NO trade all but guaranteed Beal to the Wizards.

TRC1991ParticipantCleveland’s making a mistake… Harrison Barnes will be good and Beal isn’t worth giving up an additional 2 picks for

Csharp3410ParticipantThis is old….an those other picks are nothing special

ChewyParticipantJust a few players the Cavs could possibly get with those picks.
#24: Ezili, Melo, Q Miller, Wroten, Sullinger?, Barton
#34: Jenkins, Lamb, Plumlee, J Taylor, K Middelton
Is Beal THAT much better than Barnes that you would give up two of the above players?

PrettyBoyPeeWeeParticipantThe Bobcats need alot of players if I was Jordan u have 2 do it, they can still get T.Rob @ 4 plus other players with the other pics.

TyroberParticipantThe original offer was the 4th and 24th. That deal probably gets it done.

apb540ParticipantYea this is very hard to believe. I really don’t get why Cleveland would want Beal so dam bad. Barnes fills a huge hole at SF (unless you think Luke Walton can hold it down) and can play some SG. Plus he is a proven scorere who has hit multiple big shots.

WizardofOzParticipantI understand why Cleveland is looking to move up….
They are set at PG with Kyrie Irving..
They’ve got a couple good big man with Tristan Thompson and Anderson Varejao
And I’m sure they’re thinking that Omri Casspi and Alonzo Gee can hold down the SF spot for another year…But they simply cannot go into this year with 6’2" Boobie Gibson and 47 year old Anthony Parker at their Shooting Guards…
Pairing Irving with Beal makes sense for them…

CodySLCParticipantThink we may be under valuing Beal. Maybe there’s a reason for the Wa-No trade and now this. I think teams think he’s going to be a star. Plus Gee is coming into his own at sf.

Andrew1984ParticipantContrary to my opinion, the Cavs have stated that they will match any offer for Alonzo Gee, who averaged 10 and 6 last year. They view Gee as a Sefolosha type player who can defend, provides energy, and can make some plays if you sleep on him at the offensive end.
They are not happy with Omri Casspi, who will definitely be on the roster bubble. They will probably find some help to complement Gee somewhere in free agency or via a trade of Varejao, who will be 30 when the season starts and simply doesn’t have the talent that Tristan Thompson has.
In addition, they are already extremely young as it is, so even if they kept all four picks, there is zero chance they would keep four rookies on the roster. Chris Grant has decided that Beal is his guy and he doesn’t want to walk away from a draft without his guy. I personally would be more comfortable with Beal if he was more assertive, but I commend Grant’s determination to control his team’s destiny. I think passive GMs that just always sit around and wait and see are the GMs who have teams that stay mediocre for decades.

SubZeroParticipantEither way, Beal’s should be happy. Either team he goes to, he’s running with John Wall or Kyrie Irving. He’d make a great duo with either one

HotSnotParticipantI’m pleased its worked out for CHA. Too many thought the sky was falling when they didn’t get #1 because picks 2-5 or 6 were considered too similar talent wise. Then came posters saying why would a team trade for the #2 when they could pickup the #5 and get a similar quality player?
Well this is why. CHA now has a market for the #2 pick. Teams fighting for draft position to select one player they covet.

PulseGlazerParticipantCha should absolutely take this if they were going to take Robinson #2. Robinson will still be there at 4, meaning they get the #24 pick essentially free. Cleveland makes sense, as I, too, like Gee.

machu46ParticipantCharlotte should accept that deal as fast as they possibly can if Cleveland actually offers it.

Bobcats NationParticipantthis works for both teams and id be really shocked if it didnt end up happening.

cycloParticipantAccording to Chad Ford’s unofficial survey, 70% of NBA executives have Bradley Beal as the #2 player on their Draft boards.
That would make Beal the consensus second best prospect in the Draft.
