With someone earlier stating to me that the Bulls will not take a gamble on another SF with Rose being out for the season. it leads me to think they will indeed trade up for Tony Wroten or take a reach on Tyshawn Taylor with the pick they do have.

What are your thoughts on the Bulls trading up for Tony Wroten or selecting Tyshawn Taylor with the 29th pick to hold down the team while DRose is out?

they should sign nash..for 1 year because he will retire after next season and draft a pg in 2013 draft as 2013 draft is loaded with pgs that are likely to go late first round.

Not sure if they’ll need to actually trade up to get wroten after he had a pretty terrible combine (proved he couldn’t buy a basket). That being said, if they’re going to trade up it should be for Teague. As stated many times on this site they’re taking a hard look at Barnes so if they trade up for anyone it will be in the high lotto’s for him on draft night. I don’t think they’ll trade up twice. Tyshawn Taylor & Scott Machado could both do well in Thib’s system which makes John Lucas III look like a star, and it would really speed up their development. Not sure if Wroten is right for it just because he’s sooo underdeveloped, to inject him into the starting line up of a #1 seed and expect him to run the offense might give him Kwame Brown syndrome and could also result in losses.

You can’t just "sign nash" for a year. They don’t have the cap room and Nash will likely either go to the Lakers, Heat, or back to Dallas. I don’t think he wants a 1 year contract just to come in and be D-Rose’s temporary replacement.

Derrick Rose isn’t going to miss the whole season.  He may miss a few months, but definitely not the whole season.  How does drafting Tyshawn Taylor put them in a better situation?  C.J. Watson would start over Taylor.  The Bulls need to take whoever out of these three SG’s they have higher on their board;  Doron Lamb, John Jenkins, or Evan Fournier.

// I’m assuming they will keep him b/c of Rose’s injury. I wouldn’t say he had a “great season” though.

CJ Watson is an RFA and the Bulls are desperately trying to avoid luxury tax. He’s also coming off of a great season so he might just walk.

I certainly can see the Bulls trying to go after Tony Wroten in the first round, but they may not need to trade up. I don’t think the Bulls will take Tyshawn Taylor in the first round, but maybe in the second round.

Does anyone know if Jon Lucas is still under contract? He did really well when everyone other point guard was out.

I don’t think they should draft a rookie PG. hey should try to find a vet PG to fill-in.

And no way do the Bulls draft Wroten. He’d be glued to the bench. He doesn’t fit the Bulls motto.

John Jenkins, Scott Machado and Jeffrey Taylor would be at the top of my list.

Kyle Korver, C.J. Watson and Ronnie Brewer will not all be back and these three guys can help replace them on the depth chart.  Machado might be a bit of a reach here, but I the Bulls are going to want a mature player who is ready to play right away rather than a project like Wroten or an inconsistant guy like Taylor.

If I remember correctly you’re a Bulls fan. Don’t you want a SG who can spread the floor for Rose? I think Jenkins, D. Lamb, or Fournier are all good fits in Chicago. 29th is definitely too early for Machado.

Jared Cunningham might be a good fit.  He can run some point when Rose is out, but play off the ball when he’s healthy as well.  He’s got crazy athleticism and I could see him contributing early on a good team.

I would take one of the SGs because long term that is one of their needs. Much more than PG even with the Rose injury. As for the guy who said Chicago wouldn’t have the cap room to sign Nash but then proceeded to give Miami and the Lakers as his possible destinations. All 3 teams are over the cap and can only sign players to the mid level exception. I could see Nash signing for Mid Level money but not in Chicago. Miami maybe but I think it is more likely he stays in the West either back in Dallas or LA.

Sg. Don’t need a rookie pg when Lucas filled in very nicely. Get a sg who can be their starter for the future since Rip is on his way out

You’re right Grandmama, I have Jenkins on my mock because I am the highest on him.  I don’t think Lamb is going to be around at 29 nor J.Taylor, but I agree they are good fits as well.

I just have thrown Machado in the mix because if they do swing for a point guard at #29, I’d still take Machado over Taylor and Wroten.  I’m not high on Wroten, and Taylor isn’t worth a first round pick.

Ideally J.Taylor or Lamb would slip, but a realistic pick and a guy I think will be there is Jenkins.

Did I miss something? I haven’t heard anything about Derrick Rose being out for the entire season… That wouldn’t make sense…

Teague or Wroten could potentially still be on the board for them at 28. Taylor can be bought in the second round. He is a late 2nd round pick IMO, and they would never start taylor.

Nah you didn’t miss anything.  Purely speculation from random people.  He definitely will play next season unless there is a setback in his rehab.

It takes 9 months to fully rehab from his injury which he had in may so he will be back around the end of May or early March
