Wavy BagelsParticipant^David Stern suggesting you pick Renardo Sindey. Something about that made me chuckle.

Memphis MadnessParticipantAll the Nets have now is the 57th pick. It is looking like they will lose D Will and not get Dwight Howard. So they might have to spend a lot of time thinking about the 57th pick.
If you were the Nets who would you draft at 57? Reeves Nelson is talented but batshit crazy. There is a 6’10 guy out of Yale who might be ok, or someone with talent might fall.
All the Brooklyn Nets might have going into next season would basically be BROOK Lopez and Marshon BROOKs. Is there another Brook on the board?

TallmanNYCParticipantAt 57 you are just hoping the guy can play in the league. At that point, more likely than not, you are looking at a guy who will sit on your bench for a few years and then be out of the league. I wouldn’t pick for position at that point but I might not go BPA either. I might go high risk and reward guy if there are any left. Or maybe try to get the type of guy who the league doesn’t usually like. Maybe pick a rebounder since the league tends to draft scores first. Or pick a three point shooting specialist who has a lot of flaws in his game. Novak panned out okay for the Knicks this year and he only has the one skill of being able to shoot threes. But, no you don’t worry about position, you want the guy who can play in the league and you should be happy with that.

aamir543ParticipantMy rule for picking in the second round, pick guys that have sliped for any reason, talented guys that could’ve gone top 20, like it was with DeJuan Blair, due to his iffy knees, Ersan Ilyasova fell big time due to a foot injury, he was projected to go lotto, or evena guy like Josh Selby. I would defeinatly take a flier on Renardo Sidney in the mid-late second round, it’s not often you find uber talented guys late in the draft, regardless of their attitude and other things.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantReggie Hamilton – Oakland – PG/SG – Leading scorer in the nation. I think he is like 22 or 23 years old so he is a man. He probably wont be more than a scorer but with the success of Isaiah Thomas, small guards are no longer over looked like they once were. Could be a Mo Williams/Nate Robinson type scorer..
Kyle O’Quinn – Northfork State – C/PF – Mature player who was a terrific shot blocker and is a big body. At 6’10, he isnt ideal size for the C spot but he can play there in spot minutes and would fit nice beside Lopez. He loves to rebound and defend and at the PIT, he had a double-double..
Jay Threatt – Delaware State – PG – Another small player who is more of a natural PG. Broke records at Delaware State for career assists and steals. Super quick and apparantly suffered an ankle injury early in the year that required surgery but played through it..
Scott Machado – Iona – PG – One of the purest PGs in college basketaball this past year. Lead the nation in assists per game at 9.9.. A little small but should be servicable.
John Shurna – Northwestern – PF/SF – A great shooter and at 6’9, he has some height. Scored somewhere around 2000 points for his career and has a great basketball mind.

YSUFan10ParticipantAt 57 the Nets should go for Missouri State’s Kyle Weems, Campbell’s Eric Griffin, Wisconsin’s Jordan Taylor, Mid Tennessee’s Laron Dendy, or Old Dominion’s Kent Bazemore.
Kyle Weems: He definitely has an NBA frame, and he rebounds very well. Weems also shoots very nicely from 3, and he plays the best defense his rather slow feet allow him to play. He plays with lots of confidence, and is a great team player.
Eric Griffin: He is a very intriguing player that has an extremely skinny frame. Griffin rebounds well, jumps extremely well, runs the court with a great motor, and he can even shoot the three. I honestly don’t known what position he would play in the NBA, because if he puts on 25-30 lbs he could play PF, but I think he is more of a small forward. It turns out that he has only been playing basketball for 5 years, so that is why he is kind of raw, but he is starting to develop a nice jumper and post game. I think if Griffin gets drafted he could turn out to be a steal.
Jordan Taylor: I don’t understand why he isn’t in any mock drafts. He exemplifies what you want in an NBA PG. Taylor has a sturdy build, he can shoot it, and he distributes. His height shouldn’t matter that much because he more than managed to get it done in college. He is a leader, and he makes me think of Jarrett Jack/Jordan Farmar.
Laron Dendy: I think that Laron Dendy is the second most underrated player in this year’s draft after Reggie Hamilton. Dendy is a heck of a player! He is lanky, he is strong, he rebounds very well, and has nice mid range game and beyond. His post game is nice, and he stays out of foul trouble. It is ridiculous that I haven’t seen him in top 100 prospects on one place. Yeah, he might have played in a weak conference, and maybe teams are looking at his past injuries, but he is easily worth a late second round pick. He reminds me of Damion James/ Worse shooting Anthony Morrow.

YSUFan10ParticipantAlso, look at Rakim Sanders and Yancy Gates if neither is taken.
