Wolves. I’ve spent my whole life living on the frozen tundra which they call Minnesota. I’ve seen KG be a one man wolf pack, and I’ve seen the likes of  Kevin Olie, Nikoloz Tskitishvili, and even  the legendary Oleksiy Pecherov dawn the Wolves uniform.

 The Eagles may put an end to that drought this year…McCoy and Jackson are locked up long term and we drafted some really good players on Defense…

Can we just put the city of Memphis in this thread?  I was at Game 1 against the Clippers.  Damn, that was not fun.  Then you have that Finals loss in 2008 for the Tigers.  Throw in Game 4’s triple overtime loss against the Thunder for added bonus points. 

Last year I thought that the Game 4 loss was the series.  That might have been our best shot.  Our team had some great momentum last year.  The Thunder were good last year but now they look like they are about to break one off 3-peat style.  I also had this bad feeling that last year’s loss in game 4 might come back to haunt us like the Cavs losing to Bulls on Jordan’s shot over Ehlo.  … back then the Bulls and Cavs were fairly equal.  Both teams were young and promising.  Then, Jordan and the Bulls took off and the Cavs could never really catch up.  Now the Thunder look loaded, and the Grizzlies look a step behind.

The Twins and Vikings should be added to that list.

and if college counts, the Gophers mens basketball team has been such a let down, players leaving, being suspended and of course the injuries.

But I’ve been a long time fan of many soccer teams,so I would say Germany and Netherlands NTs (how many second and third places have they got in the last decade? ) Schalke
I would consider myself lucky though ,I am Egyptian and I am Barca fan and I’ve witnessed their greatest era (between 2006&2011)

What about Seattle?  Haven’t won since the 1979 Sonics.  Lost a first round heart breaker to the Nuggets. Then the next year they lost to the Lake Show before breaking through the West in 1996, only to go against the 72 win Bulls.  … oh, then they lose the Sonics who have two of the best 5 or 6 guys in the league in Durant and Westbrook plus Harden and Ibaka.

The Seahawks suck.  They went to the Super Bowl a few years back but are back to mediocrity.

The Mariners have never won.  In 1994 they had Ken Griffey, Jr., A-Rod, Randy Johnson, Jay Buhner, Edgar Martinez, and Tino Martinez.  But, they had a strike that year during Griffey’s best year ever possibly, when he was on pace to make a run at Roger Maris’ old home run record.  Then Griffey got hurt and they slowly blew up the team.  Then they blew up the Kingdome.

Since the mid-nineties Seattle has had Ken Griffey, Jr., Randy Johnson, Alex Rodriguez, Ichiro, Shawn Kemp, Gary Payton, and Kevin Durant.  But not titles.  And now they don’t have an NBA team.

Ouch.

Remember when you were convinced the Eagles would win the Super Bowl last year?

Well, I will say the Oregon Ducks have not won $hit in the two major sports I follow since I have been alive. The Rose Bowl was sweet (95 year drought), but you want the NATIONAL title. Am afraid that day may never come, but hope it may. Also, besides winning the first NCAA Tournament ever, our basketball team has a couple Elite 8’s to its name and not much else.

I live in Toronto and am sorry to say I make fun of the Leafs all of the time. People here love them unconditionally, but there management seems to be absolutely terrible. At least for the past few years. That 45 year drought has to sting for the place that describes itself as the "Hockey Capital of the World". Did see the Jays win a couple world series when I was a kid. That was kinda cool.

Still, have to say I have rooted for many more losers than I have winners over the years just in general. Cheering for Shaquille O’Neal to win a chip every year in the league and than doing the same for LeBron James is pretty taxing. You just hope there is a pay off somewhere. When they do win, it is pretty sweet, though.

 vikings have choked away three NFC championship games since 1998. They should be on there. I also root for the timberwolves and that has not been fun either, but I am not a fair weather fan so I will always stick to those teams.

I agree with Raef and Baggie. Except Baggie, the Twins have won 2 WS titles, and they were killer back in the 60’s/70’s, so they haven’t always sucked. But yeah…being a Minnesota sports fan is being a masochist. I prefer to try and look at the hilarious positives of our athletes though.

For example, the Vikes. Where would I have learned "Straight cash, homie?" What would life be like if I couldn’t laugh at the fact that Moss dragged a traffic officer over 3 blocks on the hood of his car in Minneapolis? What about the Al and Alma’s sex cruise on Lake Minnetonka?

And the Wolves: how else would I get the answer to the question "How many tazers does it take to take down Michael Olowakandi?" (ans: 2) How else would I have learned that the number one problem facing the Wolves locker room is the fact that they need to upgrade the facilities and don’t eat breakfast together? And the tragic story of Eddie Griffin aside (really a sad story), how hilarious was it that he crashed into a parked car because he was high and playing with himself while watching p 0 r n on his IN-STEERING -WHEEL TV?

 You forgot the Cavs. Yea they had some great years thanks to Lebron but they only got to the finals once and became the only team in league history to be swept in the finals and are also the only to team to go from finishing 1st in their conference to finishing last in their conference the following season. 

The Indians for the last decade just seems to be a farm team for the likes of the Yankees, Redsocks, Phillies ect… Anytime we have anything that resembles a Star we trade them. I know we are a small market team with a limited budget but it just depressing to know your team can afford to hang on any big name players. I mean just imagine if the Indian were able to hang on to guy like CC Sabathia and Cliff Lee.

The Browns have THE WORST track record when its comes to the draft and drafting a 28 year old rookie in the 1st round migh have made it even worst.

Being a Cleveland sports fan is misserable but i can’t bring my self to A) Stop being a fan and B) Become a front runner a root for teams like the Yankees, Lakers, Patriots ect…

Been a Clippers fan for the majoirty of my life. I say majority, because I didn’t start watching basketball until I was 7 and I first liked the Timberwolves because my favorite animal was a wolf lol. But when I did actually start watching basketball, I just loved rooting for the Clipeprs. I never liked the Lakers.

 My 2 biggest are the Phoenix Suns and Philadelphia Eagles. 

Suns have been my favorite team since I was 13(I’m 23). Amare was my favorite player. Those mid 2000s Suns teams were so close it hurt. My live for this team is why I HATE the San Antonio Spurs!! Ahhh! Lol

The Eagles are soo heartbreaking. I was born in Philly and my heart is still there(Houston now). They have teased me for years and years and nothing. I am so hyped up for this season and I think we have a shot. 

 Why aren’t the Bobcats in this list?

Probably because no one roots for them.

I’m a Kings fan and my scary reality is there is a possibility that they leave and I will NEVER get to witness them win one. 

 Raptors and Maple Leafs.  Bad ownership who doesn’t care about bringing in talent because they are making billions in profit anyway.  It hurts.

I havent missed a Vikings game in 12 years and I really have very little to show for it. I am not giving up though!

Tigers Final Fours:

In 1973 we go to the title game and Bill Walton goes 21-22.

In 1985 we go to the Final Four and lose to Villanova (before they beat Georgetown).  The 1985  Final Four gets vacated.

In 2008 we lose in the title game in overtime after having a 9 point lead with 2 minutes left.  This Final Four is also vacated.

John Calipari and the Tigers sign Marcus and Markieff Morris to LOI’s.  We then go after Angel Garcia and the Morris twins back out.

After losing the 2008 title, the Tigers regroup around super frosh Tyreke Evans.  We go to the Sweet 16.  More importantly we have a great class coming in for the 2009-2010 year including DeMarcus Cousins, Xavier Henry, Darnell Dodson, and Eric Bledsoe.  Coach Cal leaves for Kentucky and takes Cousins and Bledsoe with him.  Xavier Henry messes us up by going to Kansas.  Memphis gets screwed again when we draft Xavier Henry in the lottery, fails to develop, and gets hurt.  We then have to trade him.  … Bledsoe ended up to the Clippers and kicks our butt in the playoffs.  … before Coach Cal bolts to Kentucky, John Wall considers Memphis.  John Wall ends up going to Kentucky with Calipari.

I remember watching the 2003 draft lottery on TV.  Remember this one?  We traded our 2003 first round pick for Otis Thorpe a few years earlier.  So unless we get the first pick, we lose it to Detroit.  Oh, and LeBron James declares for the draft.  So LBJ or bust city.  Watching the draft, the number two pick is on the board, then they open up the card for the 2nd pick and we come up — meaning that Cleveland gets the first pick and we lose ours to the Pistons.  Ouch.

The Memphis Grizzlies start out 0-12 in their short playoff history, a record until broken by this year by the Knicks.  Side note: Members of that team who have since won NBA titles include Jason Williams, James Posey who won two rings, Pau Gasol won two rings, and Brian Freaking Cardinal won a ring last year.  This year’s Miami Heat features two players from those early Grizz playoff teams, Shane Battier and Mike Miller.  If the Pacers somehow win the title, former Grizzlies semi-bust Dahntay Jones will get a ring.

In the famous Oden-Durant draft we have good odds to get the top pick.  But, we fall to four and end up with Mike Conley.  Durant would have helped.  We then add Conley to a good young point guard combo along with Kyle Lowry.  We let Kyle Lowry get away.

The next year we draft Kevin Love.  Great pick.  Unfortunately we trade him AND Mike Miller to Minnesota for OJ Mayo.  OJ Mayo struggles off the bench at times as a combo guard.  Kevin Love is an all-star/super star who scores and breaks rebounding records.

We do luck out the next year by getting the 2nd pick.  Unfortunately, we pick Hasheem Thabeet.  Looking back, if we had just stayed where we were we could have gotten Ricky Rubio, or possibly James Harden, or Stephen Curry.  Or maybe Tyreke Evans.

Last year, Rudy Gay goes out with a season-ending injury.  Although lacking our small forward scoring threat we beat the Spurs in a 1 vs. 8 upset.  Then we lose Game 4 AT HOME in triple overtime to the Thunder in the semifinals.  That may have been our best shot at ’em.  It might have been the Jordan-over-Ehlo moment for our franchise.

This year, Z Bo comes back skinny.  Then he looks rusty.  Then he gets hurt and comes back fat.  And rusty.  Z Bo plays at about 80% against the Clippers and we lose a 27 point lead AT HOME in game 1.  We lose the series in 7 games with game 7 being AT HOME ON MOTHER’S DAY.  Ouch…

Now, our owner wants to sell the team soon but nobody locally has enough money or interest to do it.  We have four guys paid a ton of money and only have about $6.5 million to fill out our roster. 

GS Warriors.  What’s most upsetting is that at one point they had Mullie, CWebb, Sprewell, Billy Owens, and Hardaway together on the team.  Of course Webber got traded and it’s been a world of hurt since then.

won 3 ABA titles. Probably not in most of your lifetimes, but three titles is three titles.

 My Clippers. They’ve always been fun to watch in my lifetime whether it was the Miles/Q-Rich/Odom team or the Brand/Livingston/Cassell team or now, but I’ve been the butt of bandwagon Laker fans jokes for years. I don’t let it get to me though, because they really don’t know shit about basketball. It’s at a point now where EVERYONE I know at one point in conversation will be like "uhhh oh yeah Clippers huh?".

What’s worse is now that theyre good, the same Laker fans that kept calling them the JV team would’ve been on their bandwagon if they had advanced further than the Lakers in the playoffs. "At the end of the day their in LA" they say. They can all suck my d*ck as far as I’m concerned.

I’ve seen the lakers win it all. I’ve seen ucla win it all. And my two favorite ufc fighters have been champs(tito ortiz and urijah faber). Now all I need is the raiders to get a superbowl ring and ill be set. Heck, i might even go get a kings hat or something if they win the cup the next few weeks.

Will there be a 2012-13 update to this?

Been a Warriors fan ever since I was 6, but I became a die-hard fan 4 years later during the We Believe year. Except unlike most, I really started watching when Jack and Harrington were traded, we won a couple in a row, and then a couple games alter B-Diddy came back from an injury and it was history from there. 

Leafs and Raptors and Toronto sports in general haven’t won shit for a while … except for the Blue Jays back to back a couple years ago since then nothing .. i feel the pain 🙁
