417basketballfanParticipantthe fact that pittman got only a flagrant 1 shows that the league wants the heat to win this series and also to win it all. If this happened to any other teams scrub he would’ve been ejected. Haslem should’ve got a flagrant 2 also. The ball was clearly not even close to his head. Haslem was just going for his face. Once I saw the haslem foul I just thought that they missed a call.. but once the pittman call was called a flagrant 1 I knew that the pacers were for sure getting screwed. wades hit on george hill should’ve been a flagrant 2 also. I mean crap the dude was running full speed and blatantly nailed him. now hansboroughs foul he actually went for the ball and I wouldn’t even of cared if he got a flagrant 2. but pittman not getting a flagrant 2 is just wrong

Chilbert arenasParticipantFirst of all, the game was over when Pittman went after Stevenson and the nothing would be different if Pittman was kick out of the NBA at this point, it isn’t going to affect the series. Wade’s hit was bad, but it was on Collison, not George Hill. The league had nothing to do with the way the Heat beat the Pacers the last two games. I could see an argument on Udonis, but it was right after Hansboroughs so I don’t think they wanted to start kicking players out.

TyroberParticipantCan’t you only go from a flagrant 2 to a flagrant 1 during a review? I could be completely wrong, but I am not sure if they can upgrade it even after review during a game. The announcers thought Pittman fell during the play since he was the one who fell down and not Lance. It was obviously a flagrant 2, but I am not sure if he rules permit them to upgrade the initial call during a game. I know you can make a flagrant 2 a 1, but I do not know about making a 1 a 2. Again I could be completely wrong, but I think that might be how it works.

PrecociousNeophyteParticipantThe Pittman foul doesn’t prove that the league or the refs want the Heat to win. Pittman is completely irrelevant in what the Heat are trying to accomplish. Dude doesn’t get off the bench unless is garbage time. It’s not going to matter if they don’t suspend him or suspend him for the rest of the season. I agree with you though about the Haslem foul though, that should have been a flagrant 2 and a one game suspension for game 6.

raybeasParticipantis an Ind v OKC series. Miami is at least on the East coast. Haslem will just get a fine, he’s too important to the Heat to suspend.

bloodshyParticipantDid you just make this thread to collect down ranks?
The refs sucked, but that is not indicative of a broad NBA conspiracy. The reality is that the ref cannot upgrade something they called a flagarant 1 to a flagarant 2 after review. If they didn’t initially think it was a 2, they can’t later upgrade it. Plus, that game was completely over by the time Pittman did that. Regardless of the call at the time, the Heat could receive no benefit at that point from a favorable call.
More importantly, we’re still waiting on the league’s determination on the punishment. It’s very likely Pittman will get 2-3 games and Haslem will get 1 game. Quit being a conspiracy theorist and look at the world objectively.

HaleParticipantI bet Stern wants them in the finals to draw ratings (along with OKC), but I don’t think he’s handing lesser suspensions to get them there.

417basketballfanParticipantif you can’t upgrade from a flagrant 1 to a flagrant 2 by looking at the replay then I understand why it wasn’t changed then. but I still believe that the heat get favored heavily by the refs.. I knew I was gonna lose a lot of points posting this but i just had to let out some steam lol
