Killing 2 birds with 1 stone (Golden State’s lottery pick)

That’s WAY too high for him. Maybe he has the talent to be a top 10 player of this draft class, but he really needs to develop more. He kind of killed Washington’s flow by being ball dependent, and didn’t exactly excel at decision making…I think the Warriors would be much better off going for a big, a 3, or trading down like 15 spots if they still really want Wroten.

 Combo guards can really jump on the draft like Tyreke, Russel, Curry, Shumpert, and becoming the steal of the draft. 

They need a solid big…no more guards.

Right now the Warriors are 4 pieces into a team. Curry, Thompson, Lee and Bogut. Everyone else is expendable and if I could dump Lee, I would.

The last thing the W’s need is another guard. They needed one last year and found Jenkins. Guards are much more plentiful then Bigs and a decent guard can be found anywhere in a pinch. They should use their pick on a bigman or if nothing tickles them just go BPA..

As an outsider looking in, GS has a lot of talent.  Bogut + Lee are definitely an above-average front court.  When Curry’s healthy, he’s an all-star caliber player and Klay looks like he’ll be a high level player in the league for a long time to come.  They also have Rush off the bench for elite shooting and above average depth at a couple positions.

I’m not saying GS is a contender, but I could definitely see them being a lower tier playoff team if they pick up 1-2 more pieces.  They’ve quietly put together a quality roster and I think they’ll be a good team going forward, especially w/Jackson at the helm.

If I were GS’ GM, I’d pray for Barnes or MKG to fall in my lap.  If that doesn’t happen, just take the BPA.  As San Antonio has shown this year, sometimes your bench talent can be as important as your starter talent.

 Their biggest weakness is on the wings in my opinion.  They have a good starting back-up tandem, but they do lack depth there (I am not a big Biedrins fan).  I think Jenkins and Nate Robinson are good back-ups for Curry, especially if Curry is healthy.  On the wings, Thompson looks good, but their other wings are mostly journeymen.  Rush is solid, but I don’t think he is the answer and Dorrell Wright didn’t equal his success of two years ago.  MKG I think would be their pie-in-the-sky dream, but Barnes or Terrence Ross could also fit well.

Having Nate as a backup is fine by me, he’s very underated and isn’t a knucklehead like people make him out to be, I think he’s a perfect backup, and as long as Curry gets some Germany treatment done, he’s on his way to a very nice career, I love the thought of having both Thompson and Curry shooting in the same backcout.

The Warriors are likely not to get Barnes or Kidd Gilchrist, because of their draft position. Kidd Gilchrist won’t slip past the top 5 may not even get past the top 3 with his will and determination, every team loves him and practically every lottery wants him especially the Wizards, Cavs, Hornets, and Bobcats. Barnes is a good shooter, that many lottery teams could also use. He could slip to the 7th pick (If that is the pick GSW has) but he could also be taken by the Kings at 5. Kings could use a 3 with his shooting ability. They only have 2 shooters in the backcourt and one comes off the bench! (Jimmer) They definitely need another starting wing player who can shoot and also be a glue guy for them.

So even though the Warriors desperately need a 3 with Wright being inconsistent and would probably be better served coming off the bench, they might take a chance of Perry Jones at 7. All the big name talent will likely be gone by that pick, so they might as well take a chance on someone that could be a star with the right development. They could be greatly rewarded, but if Jones does not reach his star potential the Warriors still have Wright who they can live with until they find a more capable small forward. They’ve got nothing to lose so they might as well take a shot. Jones could even prove to better used as a 3 instead of a 4. That happens to be one of their needs so all the more reason to take a chance and reach for him.

 I can see Barnes falling to 7 if Portland opts for a point guard.

Barnes and MKG would be ideal for GSW but I agree that MKG won’t fall out of the top 5 and 7 may be a bit low for Barnes.

GSW do own the 30th pick so maybe they could look to package that with the 7th pick to move up a space or two. They also own 35th pick so could maybe even put all 3 together to try and get in the top 4 or 5 if Sacramento for example would consider doing a deal or even Portland.

They could also maybe consider Quincy Miller with the 30th pick, amnesty Biedrins and take a young big to play around Bogut and Lee with the 7th pick.

Also they might look to trade down and take Perry Jones at around 10th, or even take Lamb or Beal and see what offers they get and maybe move Biedrins as part of the deal.

The one deal that I do like is maybe something with Detroit who have a number of swing men and might want to move up to maybe get their favoured big man option. Detroit send one of their swingmen and 9th pick for 7th pick, then GSW have extra depth at 3 and an still easily take say PJ III at 9 who can play both SF/PF.

The karma gods will not be kind to GS after doing what they did. Expect them to be bumped to 8, and thus lose the pick.
