jjonzParticipant+ situations: They have a great player/Great coach & Deep pocket owner & roughly 40-57mill in cap room.
– situation: Is this the New Dirk or was he just out of shape, 34 mill owed to BHay(although they could amnesty him). No 2nd option behind Dirk
here’s a list of UR & Restriced fa’s that Dallas should consider
1. DWill. UR Get him if you can, hes a max level player and the lure of playing for an owner who is willing to spend for Chip is huge.
2. OJ. Mayo RFA. Will Grizz keep him if some teaam offers him a front-loaded contract. I think he still has 3rd option potential for a Chip team
3 GWallace. UR. Very consistent player who could guard 1-4 position just like Matrix albeit with more scoring punch. $$ probally a 4yr=45 mill deal for him
4.Javale & Pam McGee. RFA & Retired All-American. It seems Dirk does well with an athletic Center, & it would be great to have a player similiar to the Last C the Mavs had when they won in 2011. $$$ i thik they can get him for 4-5yr=55mill.
Or they could just give Max $$$ to DWill and trade for DHow, Regardless the Mavs are in great position. Awesome job by Cuban to let the trio of 30 yr old players go after the Chip last year. Now this summer they have $$$$ to spend.

RUDEBOY_Participant1st of All 2 of their Top 3 players Jason Kidd & Jason Terry will be Unrestricted Free Agents..They have to decide what they plan to do with those boys..Together they made 18 million dollars last season…Jason Terry is 1 of the better 6th men in the nba..And during his time in Dallas he accepted & embraced the role of 6th man….But after winning a ring, will he be looking to start somewhere else? At 39 Kidd is still among the top 10 in the nba in assists..But no longer have young legs and often have trouble guarding quicker point guards..
Marion turned back the clock and became a premiere defender once again this year…It seemed that he was the only Maverick supplied toughness…
I think Deron Williams will return to New Jersey…He havent made his intentions known public..But i get the feeling he loves playing in the New York area..
Maybe they can use their late 1st round pick and another player and move into the lottery….
Cuban is a hard animal to figure, becuz he might want until the summer of 2013 and try to get Dwight..
I really love this year’s crop of free agent centers…Maybe they’ll be 1 of the teams to see what Greg Oden has to offer..Or take a chance on a young unproven center with upside like Daniel Orton.. Speights has blossomed in Memphis..He did a quality job filling in for Zack Randolph and he has proven that he can be starter in the league..And Memphis might not be able to afford him..Hibbert will be a restricted free agent, but the Pacers have offered only a 3 million dollar qualifying offer..So he might be looking for a bigger payday…

IndianaBasketballParticipantAs long as Dirk is on the Mavericks, they’ll never be in "rebuilding" mode. They’re reloading.
Dirk said it best during the interview… They need to get guys in there that can create their own offense off of the dribble.
Kidd has been very good as a Maverick, but they need more speed, quickness, etc at the point. Terry has been great with the Mavericks, but I think it’s time for a change. Carter and Odom have unguaranteed contracts next season. I expect them to be either cut or traded. Haywood may get the amnesty… His contract is atrocious. I think they’ll bring Marion back. He has two years left on his deal and I think he’s still a very good athlete/defender at this stage of his career. Cuban has decisions to make on young players Mahinmi, Wright, Beaubois and Jones. I wouldn’t be surprised if West returned.
They need another superstar to pair with Dirk. D12 is off of the table. That leaves D-Will, who would give the Mavericks a superstar upgrade at the point. Obviously Cuban will throw everything he has at D-Will in order to get him in Dallas.
IF they can’t land D-Will, then they should go hard after Eric Gordon. The Hornets won’t let him go easily though.
