ProudGrandpaParticipantIt’s pretty amazing, but I can’t put it ahead of March Madness.
But the NBA Playoffs are the best at raising the excitemnt from the regular season. College basketball is exciting wire-to-wire.

aamir543ParticipantI just as saddened as everyone else with the loss of D-Rose, I wish D-Rose a speedy recovery, same with Amare even if I think he’s an idiot, but the storylines, the drama, the quality of ball, it only gets better.
Every couple years there are those moments that a player or team has where you get goosebumps. In 2007 it was Derek Fisher flying into Utah at halftime and hitting a big three to seal the game. Last year in the first round it was Brandon Roy, so emotional to have a guy like Roy go through knee problems like that nd he just goes ham, takes over, and of course, Dirk, the way he willed his team to victory, just amazing, and this year, the stage is set, for one player, one team, to just kill everyone and leave no trace behind.
The Chicago have that chance. Their back are against the wall, the future of the league is out, their star, their leader, no more, but this group knows what they need to do without D-Rose, they are a better defensive team without him(obviously not a better team without him but you can’t argue that their defense isn’t more sound without D-Rose) and the ball moves better, they can handle a young Philly team, a fatally flawed Atlanta team, and they have the heart and soul to take on the Heat. The Heat will probably be too much, but just imagine if they will their way past them, or make it really close and entertaining.
And the next one is Melo, his premier perimeter defender, down, his point guard, down, the reason he came to NY, down, the world has NY out, they have them getting swept now, and all it takes is one trancendent Melo game that I know is coming and one crazy night where Novak and JR Smith got absolutly bonkers from three, and we have ourselves a series, forget about winning the series, imagine if NY brings it back to 2-2, think of all of the story lines with Novak, Smith and Anthony smiling and chest bumping with a disturbed looking Amare with a sling in the backround.
I am so excited for the rest of the playoffs, the greatest sproting spectacle on earth. I haven’t even talked about how Dirk can simgle handedly carry the Mavs to at least one victory, or how it’s not too late for the Nuggets to run the Lakers to the ground, or for Tim Duncan to go all the way and cement his legacy and become without a doubt the greatest PF of all time(at this point in time it’s a deadlock between him and Malone, and in the end I’ll probably choose Duncan). And I love how no one has acknowledged the fact that since the begining of February, the past three months that Dirk has averaged 24 ppg, and that Duncan is averaging 17 and 10 in just 28 minutes of action. I know OKC will probably win, but I would be so excited to see one last Dirk-Duncan showdown.
And I haven’t even mentioned the fact that Orlando could easily win one at home and go back to Indiana tied 2-2, anything can happen in that situation, and if they get up 3-2, you bet Stan’s gonna do everything possible to close it out at home. I’m very disapointed with the way Granger has been playing, if he continues to be content with jackingup threes, and Ryan Anderson and J-Rich’s threes start falling, it’s gonna be a long series for Indiana, a team I previously thought could chalange Miami, but not anymore, unless they can get Granger back to his 09-10 form, he’s not the same dominating scorer he was 2-3 years ago, and David West is playing well, but even he is still only about a year off of an ACL injury of his own.
And I haven’t watched the game, but Boston has managed to keep the game close even without Rondo, they’re down by three at the half, if they can go home with a 1-1 split, I can see them fueling off the energy of Rondo and Allen’s possible return and charging to a 3-1 lead, and ATL needs to win today so they can avoid giving the Celts any sign of life or hope.

aamir543ParticipantCan respect that, people have different likes and dislikes, the only problem I have with March Madness is that it’s hard to keep track of 64 teams and so going into the tourney I’ve probably really only watched 6-7 teams that I can really make a prediction on, the thing I love about the playoffs is that there is a game every single day for about a month staright and they’re all on TV and they’re all great teams, I like series more than one game elimination, it turns into a chess match, and it’s so much fun to watch each coach, each player make their move so catiously, the drama and quality of basketball is great, I can understand where you like March Madness ball in the sense that it’s more high paced and that the games flip from second to second and we have genuine Cinderellas that we rarely have in the NBA, the best type of basketball for me is the last 6 minutes, the game is within 5 points, and each team brings the ball up slowly and makes it’s decision, back and forth. But March Madness is obviously great in it’s own right, can’t argue with that.

frogmanParticipantWe all love the NBA playoffs but to say a 2 month event that happens every single year is the greatest sporting spectacle on earth is ludicrous.
Try the Superbowl, 100m final at the Olympics, Football World Cup Final or FIFA Champions League Final. They are spectacles.

bobbybParticipantUEFA Champions league, I guess no one saw Chelsea survive at the Camp Nou or Real Madrid get knocked out by BAYERN MUNICH!
