dwilks101586ParticipantMy brother and I were arguing about how much the game has changed. Mainly the money aspect. I said, " There wont ever be a team like the great bulls but because the players of today are more worried about money." So i decited to do some digging. Check me out.
1996-1997
Rk Player Salary 1 Michael Jordan $30,140,000 2 Dennis Rodman $9,000,000 3 Toni Kukoc $3,960,000 4 Ron Harper $3,840,000 5 Luc Longley $2,790,000 6 Scottie Pippen $2,250,000 2010-2011
1LeBron James$14,500,0002Chris Bosh$14,500,0003Dwyane Wade$14,200,0004You see back then if a team was a contenter and they had a big time player or a key player’s contract was coming up they would stay for less money or they would be like the spurs of old and tell players if u want to win a championship u will have to take less money.
So for example can anyone tell me how in the hell Pippen is getting less then Longley, Harper,Kukoc, and Rodman? By this time they were goin on their 5 ring and Pippen was a hugh part of that. My point is thats there’s no team in the league that has superstars or even an all stars on it were only one player was getting paid and the other or others are playing for pennies.
Future Thinking:
Serge and Harden are up for ext after next year. They already have two max players in Westbrook and KD. When it’s time to paid them, will OKC have the money to paid?
The Heats Big 3 (43.2 Million)
96-97 Bulls Big 3 (41.39 Million)
How the only reason why its close is because MJ was making 30Mill but they still had a team of good role players.
Let me know what you guys think
