I’ll do one of these for all the regions, but this is my take on the East Region.
If you have anything to add by all means say your opinion.

    REGIONAL WINNER:

To me, any of the top 5 seeds in this region have a shot at winning, Wisconsin less than the other 4, though.
To me, Ohio State is my favourite to win the region. They have the best player in the region in Sullinger, as well as Craft, who really is a VERY good point guard in regards to running and team and playing D. Also, Buford is a very versatile wing scorer who can score in many ways.

Syracuse would be the favourite to many, but I really see Vanderbilt being a HUGE problem to them. They have great shooting and scoring options, especially John Jenkins who is the one of if not the best pure shooter in the nation. They also have solid post presences with Ezeli looking like he is stepping up his game, and really have a chance to out rebound Cuse in that game. It will be a very, very good exciting, close game, but i see Vandy pulling through.

I look to seeing Vanderbilt upset Syracuse in that game, then losing to Ohio State in the elite 8.

I really do like Florida St and they have been rolling lately, but I do not see them knocking off Ohio State in the sweet 16, although it is very, very possible.

    FIRST ROUND UPSET:
I don’t really see a lot of upset potential in this region. Atleast not major upsets.. I could say WV or Texas, but I don’t see either of those being huge upsets, as I believe Gonzaga is a little over seeded, as well as Texas over Cincinatti is actaally a very even game in my mind. I’ll say WV over Gonzaga here.

SLEEPER TEAM: (4 seed or lower)
Vanderbilt. This one is an easy pick in this region for me, as well as most. To me Vanderbilt is a LEGIT final 4 possibility. They are on a roll, winning the SEC tourney and seem to be playing with a lot of swagger going into the tourney. Like I said before, they matchup nicely against Cuse, and lead by John Jenkins, this team has a solid shot at the final 4.

    PLAYERS:
Jared Sullinger: Definate NBA Prospect and lottery talent. IMO the best player in the region, and a big tournament could give him top 5 pick possibility.
Andrew Nicholson: If St. Bon has any chance… its all on this beast.
Dion Waiters: I really like his game  coming off the bench for cuse. He’s a definate scorer and is a solid NBA prospect. A good tourney would solidify him as a first rounder.
John Jenkins: He’s a sharpshooter that will carry a huge load for Vandy going deep into the tourney.
Yancy Gates: Can a big tournament make people forget about the Mike Tyson act earlier in the season?

I pick Florida State to win it.  I think Sullinger will struggle against the shot blocking prowess of Florida State’s front line, and that could hurt Ohio State.  Syracuse also has some size, although I don’t think they really have any great post defenders, and they don’t rebound well.
