WOW! What is D-Will taking that made him make 8 (for now) 3 pointers? The dude’s on fire.. But the bigger issue for this game is how will J-Lin mesh well with Melo…

It is still too early.  I am sure if Shumpert was playing D on Williams this would be a different story.

Couldn’t catch the game, can someone tell me what went wrong with the Knicks on offense? Lin took 18 shots, Amare 17, and Melo just 11. Lin only had 3 turnovers, but Melo had 6, which tells me that he was handling teh ball a lot and trying the run the offense, can someone explain what happened?

Melo seemed like he was out of rhythm after being out of action for a few games and he couldn’t hit his shots with any consistency. Amar’e was wasn’t helping much either he went 7 for 17 from the field and only had 4 rebounds. Lin played pretty well he had 21 points 9 assists and  7 boards. I think they will be fine though, Melo won’t have many nights where he goes  4 of 11 from the field and 3 for 6 from the foul line with only 11 points. Once he shakes off the rust he will start scoring more efficiently and I think he and Lin will eventually mesh and play well together.

Melo missed some layups, otherwise his stat line would have looked a lot better. Can you expect him to have his legs after being out for two weeks? Davis played and when you couple him, Melo and J.R. Smith it was unclear what type of offense they were running. Probably basically no plays. And Melo had turnovers, but he should be expected to be rusty.

Basically, the Knicks jumped out to an early and sizeable lead. Lin went to the bench for a good stretch in the first half. The Knicks fell apart and the Nets caught all the way up and took a small lead. I think that was mainly when Davis was playing.

It is just too much to try to mix in three big-time players like Melo, Davis and Smith and do it without any full strength practices. And Williams had basically a career night shooting. Not as much of it as you might think was against Lin.

This was basically a preseason type game when you think of all the new guys playing together. Besides the obviouse, how often in practice do you think Lin and Novak played with Melo. Obviously J.R. has only practiced with Melo at this point. Who knows how much Davis has practiced, probably very little with Melo since Melo has been out for two weeks now. So this was disorganized and D. Williams had career night and would have beaten a lot of teams in a night where he hit 8 threes.

Speaking of D-Will.. Nobody has really said much about him lately bc his team has basically sucked.. But in his last 23 games he has scored 20+ 16 times, 5 of which were over 30, and he is averaging over 29 ppg in his last 6 games including tonight. And it wasnt one big game and 5 average games it was 27,26,29,29,26,and 38. CP3 or D-Rose? How about D-Will? Don’t forget about him.

No doubt about it.  I’ve rated him as one of the top-3 pgs in the league consistently since his 4th year in the NBA.  And I think he was the #1 pg in the league two years ago.  IMO only CP3 and DRose are as good or better @ the 1, with Westbrook/Rondo a step behind.

Apparently twitter inspired Deron Williams to play good against the Knicks. He said he was tired of people saying "Jeremy Lin shut down Deron Williams" so he circled his calender. Seems like Deron only trys when he feels like it. Imagine if he put that type of effort into every game this season. Maybe his team wouldn’t be 10-24.

The Knicks perhaps got their full strength team finally out there and after taking an early 10 point lead got hit by an on fire Deron Williams. It’s good to see the Nets finally beginning to pick up and if Lopez can get back and contribute then they should continue to improve.

NY had that great run but have lost a couple of home games against struggling teams so again hopefully they can kick on and get above .500 as Melo, Lin and STAT all mesh.
